I was also born with a congenital heart defect. I had a heart block before I was born. At one day old I had surgery to get a pacemaker put in and have had four surgeries since then. I am 14 now.
Got mine at 72 thank GOD for technology .they said mine is good for 15 years,had my second annual evaluation this June and the heart doctor said it will be good for another 14 years.THANK YOU JESUS,

I had my first pacemaker when I was three and have had four since then. My first two pacemakers were in my stomach also then when I was 19 they put it under my shoulder as well.

I went to Boston and had that same FDA program. I have venericular septal defect and some other issues. I'm about to have more surgeries about it. I plan on making a video abotu my heart story
I was also born with a cogenital heart defect, which ultimately lead me to having 7 open heart surgeries, and counting! I had to get a pacemaker and defibrillator at the age of 14. So I completely understand what you have gone through. Keep fighting, girl❤

I got a pacemaker at 8 years old. I'm 13 now and I still have the same one. I think I have 5 years left on mine. My pacemaker is located in the same place as yours but on the opposite side because I was born with my heart reversed. But yeh Ik how it feels😂. Oki Idk what else to say byeee😂❤️❤️

Great story. You seem to carry it well. Fun fact, i have one as well and I’m a full time DJ. Our doctors are a blessing. Without them we wouldn’t be able to do things people without pacemakers can do !

When they moved your pacemaker from your abdomen to your shoulder did they take the leads and old generator out of your abdomen? Or did they just cap the old leads and put the new leads in with the generator in your shoulder? My 13 year old daughter's is facing a similar surgery. My daughter loves acting too!!
Thanks for the info! I'm getting a defibrillator at the end of August at UK hospital. Your norm is going to be my new reality. Hopeful and scared at the same time .
My whole life I felt dizzy, lazy, sleepy out of nowhere, had headaches, anxiety... This year being 32 years old I found out that I have bradycardia. My life would be so much less painful if I just knew. I often felt terrible at work when the air conditioner was on and all windows where closed. I would just go to the toilet and sleep for 30 minutes sometimes so no one would see, during lunch break.
And also I got so many hateful comments at work that I rather open a window. Cause I really didn't have enough oxygen coming to my brain. I tried to makes sense out of it for so many years and by accident I found out cause I had also some back problems. And once I felt so terrible, I mean I had the worse back pain in my life. And I called ambulance at night so they would at least give me a painkiller shot or something. They told me my heart rate is so incredibly low and they took me to the hospital. I don't know what happened overall. I thought it might have been covid but I didn't have any flu symptoms so I dunno.
Anyways speaking just about the heart I remember I felt terrible chest pains in middle school during PE for some time when I was rapidly groing up. So I went to the doctor with my father but he only asked if I do sports a lot and I said: "yes" cause I used to run 20 kilometers every day for some time and I told the doctor that. So really, no one really knows the reason. But that's not important now. Now at least I know why I feel bad when I feel bad.
Hi my name is korben I am 12 and when I was 3 months old I had a lot of health and Hart problems so they had to put the pacemaker in my chest because I was so young I also had the same things as a child with self confidence problems and about a month ago I got the amazing news that I am getting my pacemaker out on the 8th of August this story was really incredible and I hope you have a wonderful life
Why are they taking it out? Did they take your pacemaker out yet?? I have one also and I wish I had mine taken off
You're like me! Leaky valve and a slow heart rate. I'm finding it kind of hard to breath in the past 2 weeks :s And I just went for a check up and they said I don't have to get a pacemaker right now, but should as a preventative measure. However.. the breathing thing is getting to me..
When I was 5 months old I was given a pacemaker due to a botched routine heart surgery. But because of it I have met the most wonderful people. To anyone who reads this comment I would love to talk to them about their experiences. Anyway have a great day and stay strong

I got mine when I was three and I has change mine a year ago.
Wow. This is so powerful. I was 6 months old and I got my first pacemaker. I have and was born with Complete Congenital Heart Block, or a form of CHD. I just had my 3rd replacement in October. Keep pushing and sharing, because it's not easy to talk about all the time. You're so brave for sharing to advocate for others. No one is alone, and you're living proof that miracles do happen. You go girl!

My mother was advised by her Physician/Doctor for an Emergency Implantation of this device (Pacemaker) on below of her collarbone this coming week and our family is really concerned about it. So, here I am searching for some people like you and very relieved after watching your video, plus these comments are so Inspiring!!! Thankyou so much for sharing you're story, it really means a lot. Because me and my brothers are very worried and afraid of what's going on and what's going to happen after the Operation. I'm only 15 and to be honest, we still need our mom and very love her. She still need to live & enjoy her life like you and everyone else who's going through in the same situation. Again, I thank you! May god be with you! 💛

I havee tooo i love when i meet someone with pacemaker too but i have my pacemaker mark in my chest and it look Soo much but people ask me whats that and Is a little uncomfortable❤️ i have it since i was born😊
I got mine when I was ten. I had been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when I was nine, but started having episodes (going unconscious and falling) around eight or so. Four years later and it hasn't bothered me (other than the times it went off and shocked me of course haha). I am still slightly bothered by my scar, but not as much.
Very interesting story! I had a heart murmur when I was born but it repaired after the doctors worked on it.

Coming to this for comfort. My heart beats too fast and I had 3 surgeries in 2018 and they have to freeze this part of my heart but if they freeze it too much it can make my heart beat slower, meaning I need a pacemaker. I am having my 4th surgery soon I’m just trying to prep myself in case this happens. Fingers crossed it doesn’t but thank you for the insightfulness
I’ve had 2 if these and having my freezing one in the next couple of months in the U.K.!
