The Latina Initiative: Reducing Disparities in Breast Cancer Screening

Kaiser Permanente is collaborating with Susan G. Komen Oregon & Southwest Washington, and community partners to increase breast cancer screening among Latina women. The Latina Initiative Poder y Vida project is using community outreach and a Spanish-language media campaign to reach 35,000 Latino families in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Kaiser provides free mammograms to eligible Latinas, and donates the treatment for the women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.
