I've wanted to do this one since the new album dropped. I actually learned the normal version of Pushit a day before Fear Inoculum came out! But the Salival version is just one of my absolute favourites by TOOL.

@@nicolasriveros943 ive been learning to play Tool songs for like 2 years now, and youre definitely right. it's just that Adam and Justin know how to make the same scale sound unique in every way imaginable, avoiding the repetitive. heck, Fear Inoculum has a crap of ton of basically the same techniques throughout all the songs, but they're all their own thing.

For anyone that might be interested:
The liner notes for Salival indicate all of the cities the live songs on the album were recorded in, but they don't identify exactly which city each song was recorded in. For that reason, I think the live songs on Salival may be compilations of material recorded at different shows that have been mixed together to present the best "live" recording possible. That being said, I'm about 99% sure that Maynard's speech at the beginning was recorded at the show in West Valley City, UT on 15 Aug 1998.

Awesome Gibson man, always loved that Epiphone, but surprisingly the Gibson gives a slight tonal advantage. Which is weird I didn’t think your covers could get more perfect man. Keep up the great work!

Hey Max. Check the tab just after the pick scrape @ 11:52. Two hits on D7 does not appear to be what your picking hand is doing. Also, for that phrase I hear D7 twice, then A7 twice, then D5 twice, before rolling to the open D. But then again my ear might not be as good as yours. Great work! This helped me a lot.

If I could just offer one slight correction on my favorite part of the song "Staring down the hole again" - Instead of just hanging on the 0 and 12 of the 6th/5th strings, he actually plays it similar to the phrase earlier in the song with the 0 and 12, then the 10, then the 0 and 12, then the 10-9-10. One of the few live vids here on youtube shows him playing that section. I've studied this song like a crazy person. You did an incredible job.

I love that new Pelham blue modern Les Paul! I just ordered a new Studio in wine red with gold hardware, myself. Problem is, it's on backorder. I guess I'll have to wait a while to start taking your awesome lessons.
