Woke up this morning at 6am. Alarm wasn't set to go off for another couple of hours. Decided to open RUclips and scroll to see if there were any interesting videos to watch. This video was recommended and I saw that it was posted 17 years ago. That has to be a record for old vids being recommended by RUclips, so I clicked it not expecting much. Ended up getting hit right in the feelings at 6am from a 17 year old video. What a find Then I started thinking. What was I doing 17 years ago on the day this was posted. It was a different time back then. To start, I was 17 turning 18 in November and had yet to quit school. My dad retired from the Marines a couple years before and we had moved up to Ohio from NC so I had only been in my new house for a couple years. Honestly was having a hard time adjusting from living the military life to civilian life. Didn't have a lot of friends and the few I did associate with were really shitty. Kinda wish I didn't talk to them at all really. Left school after turning 18 that year and been working ever since. Been a lot of ups and downs since then. If I'm being honest, mostly downs but this are stable now. Just wish I had worked harder towards my goals but that's life I guess. They really don't make music like this anymore.
Got recommended this like three or four years ago and instantly fell in love. Cool to see that RUclips finally decided to show it to a ton of other people.

this needs to be on spotify
Damn this song is beautiful. Hard to believe this vid is over a decade old
Lyrics:
"TIME" in white, "DIME" at night
The pride meets jive and jive takes drive
So he looks at me as a primrose
"PACE" in white, "RACE" at night
The voice meets face and face takes the way
So she who rocks the glass rules the dawn
When did I make up this mind?
When will I cut off this lie?
Come and turn back
We're passing by
So, on rainy days, I will bring it to mind
obrigada
I don't think all the lyrics are in English, man
@@nousername2942 It's unusually English-heavy, but yes, all the lyrics are in English
@@AdamOwenBrowning There's a good amount of Japanese in there you just can't hear it very well because shoegaze doesn't exactly have super clear vocals in general. I would quote some but my Japanese isn't good enough to parse it. I can definitely hear a little though
I can hear a ton of EngRish, i remember the Song" receive you" from Yakuza series and I thought it was in Japanese, I was speechless when I saw the english lyrics@@nousername2942
i love this type of alternative rock song
isnt this bit of shoegaze ?
@@cecilleonhart8553yes
@@cecilleonhart8553yeah the verses remind me somewhat of a Placebo-type sound as well
@@cecilleonhart8553Definitely shoegaze and some post hardcore.
Its alt rock with math rock influences
Listening to this sounds so special and im shedding tears, this is the best song I've ever heard. The guitar, the drums, the bass, their voices, the mv, everything about this feels so beautiful & lovely. Tysm youtube for showing this to me and introducing me to amazing music whenever I need them the most :"D
Totally obsessed. What a sick combination of post rock and shoegaze!!!
the algorithm ate with reccomending this one... now would be one of the rare times where I'll be really happy if one of those people commented who comment paragraph worth of biography about a band/artist.
My backstory is that I got reccomended this during August of this year and I had a magical time just being awake during the blue hours of 4 - 5 AM while listening to this song through my earbuds.
