When’s the last time you’ve seen a boxer throw one punch in a fight? They throw hundreds of punches per fight. No point in 1 rep maxing when it only increases Injury

@@ap7football933 It's a type of sling shot, the idea being to let you "overload" the weight and train your lockout. That isn't the problem here, though. The problem is his "spotter" grabbing the bar and pulling it up for him but then calling it a good lift.

KSI should get a gym coach to help with his form on those rows you could be activating the back so much more with the proper form. The front squats weren’t bad but I’m a big believer in ass to grass I feel like it truly activates all the muscles. Not taking anything away from KSI he puts in work and it shows in the ring though!

You can look up hundreds of athletes in different sports. Many of them train like this, with quarter reps and explosive moves which don't have the best form. Looks silly to us lifters, but can't argue with result. My only thing is don't say your strong on a lift if your form looks like booboo lol. Other than that quarter rep away!

The bench looked legit and in squats you don't really need to go all the way down for it to count as a rep because some people aren't able to do it.
It doesn't necessarily has to be a strength thing but also a balance thing.
I did try to do front and normal squats with a bar and I couldn't go all the way down even with just the bar because I'd lose balance. And I know I'm strong enough to lift it easily. In other workouts that's usually my warm up but in squats I can't go lower than like maybe half way down because I'd fall

I’m seeing a lot of people calling out KSI for having terrible squat form and although they are CORRECT they are also forgetting that the purpose of his squats aren’t to gain muscle or to have time under tension. Quarter squats have shown to increased explosively more than going parallel. And although it looks like he’s not doing it correctly he is doing it for good reason

Age is kind of just a number when it comes to fitness and health, being 15 won’t limit you from having the knowledge and experience with training of that of an adult, only advantage adults will have is if they’ve been training ever since they’re young so that would mean they’ve been at it for much longer then a younger person

You don’t have to touch the bar to your chest to have a proper rep since everyone has different shoulder mobility but yeah he’s definitely ego lifting on every front

It's common for athletes to not hit the assumed 90 degrees on a squat. Especially for a boxer, they're never going to be squatting that low in a match, so why train to go down that far? That's just the general understanding of why athletes don't necessarily go low for squats. Stopping the bar at a "half-rep" and then exploding up is a lot more practical for an athlete to train power. For the bench, he has a spotter touching the bar incase of any freak accident. He has a boxing in just a few weeks, so getting injured is not an option. Obviously I get that this is a video displaying his strength yet he isn't doing these conventional lifts according to the conventional ways, but he's training boxing, not powerlifting, so it's still a display of his strength. Regardless, he's still moving lots of a weight.

His boxing camp is known for the philosophy that sparring is essential and it's one of their major focuses I'm pretty sure

It was a more like a slingshot benchpress with that thing under his shirt and that also it was assisted.. Spotter was literally deadlifting it off him at that point.. Crazy how he calls it a "pb" probably could do a 100kg bench without assistance but he has horrible form anyways

These Trainers / PTs need the sack, holy crap this was hard to watch.
Not taking away anything from you jj you’re in amazing shape and put in so much work I saw a glimpse in this video and that other sidemen video you made about training but you should try to fix both your squat and benching form a better range of motion would benefit you in those exercises. Also this was an amazing video I would love to see more of this content
He’s a boxer not a power lifter. He trains for explosiveness which is why he uses a smaller range of motion. E.G. on the squats when is a boxer ever all the way down then jumpining up to punch someone? They bend their knees slightly and then explode up so that’s why he trains with that ROM. Bench he has a fight in a few weeks so the trainer is there because he doesn’t want any freak accidents before the fight especially when going for a PB
