I really enjoyed the pod cast today and love the Botanical Garden quilt. I had no idea you were mother an daughter until today; what a wonderful way to spend time together.
Watching you two delightful ladies early on the west coast made a great start to my day! Thanks for answering two questions so quickly that I sent last week - batting and storing. 🥰🇨🇦
Good Monday Morning Ladies. You two are so beautiful working together, I just love it. I ‘m listen and learning a lot, thanks for sharing. Happy sewing and quilting to you both.❤️🧵✂️😃
Hi ladies, really enjoying these podcasts, have watched all 10 and you both are so interesting to listen to and have great answers to all the questions - it does feel like l'm sitting at the table. Hello from Australia :)
I feel like I have 2 new friends that join me in my sewing room during your podcast. You are both such an inspiration. As a fairly new quilter (5 years), your tips are really helpful, as well as the question and answer segment. Love your podcasts! Great job and great sound effects!
As always, fabulous podcast! That Origami quilt has my name on it. I had to brag on you guys. I live in Pensacola, FL where we had Hurricane Sally last week. We had forgotten to get the mail on Monday and it had started to blow and rain. We got the mail and it was all soaking wet so it was lying on the table to dry. I had two envelopes from A Quilting Life with patterns I had ordered. I thought I would have to order again, but boy was I SO THANKFUL that each pattern was in a zip bag! No lie. I went and showed everyone in the house dancing around like a fool. We fared ok, only having to sequester in the bathroom for a tornado once and we only lost one oak tree that was uprooted. The best part was that we had power until the wee hours so I had a quilt already going, I sewed my Christmas BOM and did a Confetti Stars table Runner in Fall fabs. I hope there are no more storms this year for us, but I have four new patterns if there are!!!
S & C have found their groove with this vlog/podcast/channel. You are so comfortable with each other and quilting you have no need to rehearse.. Viewer questions make me feel like I’m part of the conversation. Your patterns are great. I don’t have to rewrite them to make them understandable!
That’s a really great idea using one fabric line or similar colors for the practice blocks. I use my scraps and make “minis” for my wall of minis. And great practice to quilt on my domestic machine.
Hi Sherri & Chelsi! Appreciate the share about the table runner-sized Yellow Brick Road pattern, super cool. Chelsi, both new patterns are just lovely; enjoyed seeing the actual quilts today vs the pattern pic online at FQS, etc. I am going to take a closer look at my storage options for a 40yd 90” roll of batting... just makes good sense if I can manage it... but will it fit in my vehicle to get it home? LOL. Thank you both for brightening up my Monday with all the quilting goodness! 😊
My sister and I have both started making our quilts wider than longer. I have at times only put borders on 3 sides because I put my quilts under my pillows. I want my quilts to come down farther on the sides to cover sheets better.
I am always late to the party - I am starting the 2019 HST Quilt - so excited. Love listening to you guys talking about all the questions people send into you. Thank you for always an interesting podcast.
It’s called an envelope fold. I fold my quilts in this manner and make a pillowcase for each one using fabric from the quilt on the band so I know what is inside and I don’t have to dig around when looking for something specific. It does keep the folds from the normal vertical/horizontal places.
I just love your idea about making your practice blocks out of Christmas material! In fact, just this past weekend I pieced together a practice Christmas tree which is a little bit larger. It is the beginning of a wall hanging which would finish at 26x36, but I did not put the borders on cuz I felt comfortable knowing how to do that. But I think I'm going to take you up on your suggestion of making future practice blocks out of Christmas material and I will border my tree with those blocks to end up with a practice quilt in Christmas fabrics. Super cute idea!! Also, now I have a better understanding about leaders and enders. And I love the idea about doing your sashing while working on your quilt. I love the podcast and look forward to it every other week!!
I'm new to your podcasts and enjoying them so much!! Future video idea - show us how you sew blocks while using them for your leaders and enders. Forgive me, I'm new to quilting... Would you need leaders and enders for your leaders and enders? Somehow I doubt it. Maybe you have to snip those threads?
Gorgeous quilts. There are so many beautiful quilts and we would love to make all of them .... if we had the time, the money and many great patterns (and there are many great patterns.
Sherri, I was wondering how your blue & cream fabric using the pattern On the Plus Side was coming along. I started one too because I loved your blocks.
I just wanted to tell you guys last year on Black Friday my girlfriend and I were watching the sales on Amazon and we got an entire roll of warm and natural 40 yards for $205 we thought that was a pretty good deal so we split it. The other best sale that I found is better than Joanns because over here in California they raise their prices on batting but hobby lobby did not and hobby lobby will also give you 40% off with one coupon
Does Chelsea have a channel and has she ever done a tutorial video? I am really enjoying the conversation. What a blessing to have your daughter like what you do!
Mine was always the corner, like on a HST getting sucked down on my Janome. My Juki doesn't have two different needles holes so I never have that problem. It's one of my favorite features.
Love y’all sew much. Would love to see y’all at a trunk show or class. Any chance that will happen after this craziness is over? A mother / daughter one ❤️🧵
I enjoy your podcasts a lot. It’s fun & educational ...thank you for finding time to make them
You both are so blessed to have each other!
Your podcasts have been very inspirational. Thanks so much!

Beautiful quilts and patterns. Come on mom, give Chelsea the table runner! :)
Thank you for sharing! I think I will now put a smaller quilt in my laundry room. You two are very inspiring!

I have to ;et you know I love to watch your podcasts and I have learned so much from the both of you .Keep up the great work!
I love the quilt on the wall! The quilting looks great also.
Love the idea of doing the sashing rows as leader enders.
Another great show! Thanks ladies!

Thanks for the ideas on HST patterns! Went to your Etsy shops and purchased 4 great patterns. Lots of ideas now! 😊

Sherri, I got my kit for Martingale U; and I was thrilled to get some Balboa and Happy Days fabric! ❤️❤️❤️
I got my sew sampler box today! Yay for the surprise!!

Fold them diagonally and they won’t crease! Like in triangles. Learned this on Missouri Star video.

I use my sashing as leaders and Enders as well. I also will do my binding as leaders and Enders.
I really enjoy your podcast!!! I was wondering what is your favorite notion?

Love your podcast!
Some of us use small leaders so we don't have to deal with the 'nests' that sometimes happen at the beginning of a seam.
Mine was always the corner, like on a HST getting sucked down on my Janome. My Juki doesn't have two different needles holes so I never have that problem. It's one of my favorite features.
I have always bought my rolls of batting from the Amish. If you have an Amish settlement nearby, you may be able to find it there.
Love y’all sew much. Would love to see y’all at a trunk show or class. Any chance that will happen after this craziness is over? A mother / daughter one ❤️🧵
To make a quilt longer you could also make the saying slightly wider
How do you see without a swivel chair? I couldn’t imagine that
Try a saddle stool
