Oh, you can bet I know how hard it is to maintain that kind of vocal prowess for eleven minutes! That’s why they have my never-ending respect, and why I get so much joy out of seeing new people react to this video, which really takes their vocal talents to a whole new level. Lol, I knew Hwasa would just immediately scramble your mind with that amazing high note! Most people wouldn’t even guess that she has that kind of range, since they always put her in a box of the low, raspy and jazzy singer. Sure, that’s her specialty, but she can also belt like Solar, do high runs like Wheein and rap like Moon Byul. The entire group is so versatile that they can all do anything all of the others can do if they only wanted to, and should never be put in boxes.

one of RBW's trainee requirement was to watch MMM's concert (the 2019), for them to learn how the girls interact with the crowd and stage presence. And the concert is 4-hours long.
with this medley, yeah, they wore high heels this 2017 concert.

@@midnightshutdown oh it's from a Filipino vlog, they won a training program in RBW for a few months I think. They got to interact with Oneus, Purple Kiss, and Diverse. Watching Mamamoo F/S concert is one of their assignments.
Yes this medley is 12 minutes long. But this was part of a 4-5 hour concert. Hope that helps put it in perspective. And many people zone out during this performance. It is captivating. Edit: and the realization they are in heels is perfect.
When you call out Solar picking up Wheein's note. Beyond just their individual talent the way they sing like the group is a single being just switching vocal tones as the music moves among them is just so special.
I think the greatest demonstration of their control of the crowd is the moment towards the end where Moonbyul is kneeling and they signal for quiet and the crowd noise stops completely.

Agree dude, I LOVE it when solar and wheein toss notes back and forth between each other. It feels so much like they're working together, just one unit, and it's so different from most groups singing together where they sing their own individual lines and that's it. I think it happens a lot in their Delilah performance. I can't wait to see more mmm live stages from you -- I'm 99% none of the immortal songs stages get blocked.
Mamamoo and another girl group Gfriend were paired in a program called Showtime; one of the things they did was filmed a cover of each other's most popular music video of the moment. Gfriend (who is noted for their VERY precise choreography) incredulously asked "how do you _dance_ in these heels?!", because as part of their squeaky-clean image they only ever wore sneakers & flats, _maybe_ a short wedge heel.

The first song was Backwoods. Also, they won 🏆 three times on this show (Backwoods, Wonderful confession, Rhythm). For me, the performances of Backwoods and Love make me so emotional as always. I love to watch every performance of them.

Also at 4:51 this Moment is just Adorable because when Wheein and Hwasa sang Together they said "Half of my Life is with you" which is very Adorable and Heartwarming because they have been Together for so long they were Friends since Middle School, they developed the same Dream to become a Singer, moved to Seoul Together, got into the same Company Together, and debuted in the same Group Together! Just Wow! Anyways I can't wait for you to react to more Mamamoo in the Future, and I can't wait for you to react to more Groups and Soloists as well! You should definitely check out more of Red Velvet their Vocals and Visuals are Insane as well and Wendy the Main Vocalist of the Group is one of the best Vocalists in this Generation she can hit pretty much anything, and the rest of them could probably be Main Vocalists in really any other Group it is insane! Things I try and comprehend and fail... The dynamics and scale of black holes, and how Mamamoo took classic songs, made them into award winning competition covers, then re-arranged their own covers to even more iconic levels of musicality, and belted them over 12 minutes as a small part of a four and a half hour concert. The universe is a magical place.
One of the groups that I know who can perform in super high heels like they are wearing flats. Well that is what they get for being trained for wearing high heels every practice 😂😂😂👌

You said SO MANY things that I love and agree with. Like the fact that Mamamoo is so versatile, doesn’t sing in just one generic style and it’s what sets them apart from other groups. Also the fact that they remind you of 2ne1 when it comes to being natural performers with control of a crowd.
love your reaction, as always!! it's so heartbreaking to hear you talking about how they remind you of 2ne1, because a couple of years back they were in a reality with park bom, and you could see the pain in her eyes whenever they performed. i was never able to forget that. and i could never pinpoint what it was that i found similar, because i don't think they sing alike at all, and you just said it--it's the way they interact with the crowd.
I was so into 2ne1 back in the days (tho im not a blackjack), but i think what might remind us of their similarity is their stage presence and the fact that they could emit the aura of ‘crowd involvement’ even with songs that didnt have room for adlibs like aya, I personally havent found that many girl groups that could consistently ‘involve’ crowd, especially on more performamce-based songs, that’s why mamamoo and 2ne1 have a special place in my heart personally☺️ they could look professional and they look like theyre actually enjoying every stage moment (not that other groups didnt do it, i just saw that effect very prominently on mmm with 3rd gen group imo, i think every group has their own charm and since we’re talking abt mmm, mamamoo’s undeniable charms are vocals and stage presence haha)

Mamamoo mostly always performed with high heels. Watch MMMTV (I forgot which episode) where Mamamoo practiced dance & fooling around (running, free dancing) with black high heels. Crazy
Hwasa’s high note was phenomenal. However, why isn’t anyone talking about the note Solar hits at 7:51?

I think maybe because new Moos and non-Moos aren’t used to hearing Hwasa hit those high notes, since most of the time in Mamamoo songs the high notes are given to Solar and Wheein, especially Solar. So most of the time, people are more often reacting to Solar’s high notes. This time they’re just surprised to hear Hwasa. I think that’s the only reason why more people here are reacting to Hwasa’s note. 😅

Btw just in case no one told you, these tunes are decades old. Immortal songs is the name of a korean programme. They have a veteran singer come on as a guest every week, and judge other younger singers do new renditions of their songs. As far as i know, mamamoo has won every challenge they've competed in. This is a medley of their most memorable performances in the show.

As a Korean, I am so proud that BTS, Blackpink, IU, So Hyang & Mamamoo are Korean and we can introduce these artists to other countries. When I was 20years, I never expected that one day, Non-Korean people will understand and enjoy our culture. If you love Mamamoo, plz check “Arirang Alone”, “Everyone” of So Hyang. I bet you will cry.
As an American, I am beyond delighted that I have found good music again for the first time since 1990. Props to the Koreans for making music great again.
Mamamoo has done most of their choreo in high heels. 😂 The 4 Seasons era is when they started switching up footwear. These days Solar and Hwasa remain in heels and Moonbyul and Wheein wear boots or sneakers unless their look demands heels. My absolute favorite choreography is for Decalcomanie and they were jumping around in heels like it's nothing. Their dance practice for Piano Man(ruclips.net/video/NGv7UOmEk_Q/видео.html) should be legendary because they spent a lot of it just playing around in those huge heels. 👀

I really love trot and traditional korean music. I really hope that korea stops being ashamed of who they are. As a korean American who always gets shamed for looking and behaving korean, I don't want my home country to also reject our culture the way we do here. Trot is often looked down on for being t0o country and not European. But we're fujking asian. we don't NEED to be European. Our music has soul and I hope more groups can embrace that side. Like mamamoo with trot and bts with idol
