I got my multineedle machine about a month ago and am saving up for my fast frames....I stumbled across your video, while researching fast frames and today I tried this method on my regular frames to stitch a name on a stocking and it worked!!! Woohoo! Thank you!
OMGoodness that just saved me from having to throw an $18 6inch bag away! I was able to use shears from back, to remove tiny name, then used this method to do one 3 times bigger! I put cut away inside bag to cover the cut out mess, and the new name stitched it down perfectly. I’m so happy!!! Tks Melissa!!!!! I’ll never take apart, and resew another stocking!
Thank you so much for this video as I have ruined a stocking from pottery barn. I always hated my fast frames but am beginning to get the hang of them. And thanks for having your camera close to the subject and speaking loud enough to hear .
Wow! This could be a game changer on my Bernina Free arm machines (B700 embroidery only & 590 Embroidery/Sewing combo). I have been making tote bags and have had to open the linings and the seams because I couldn't pull it back enough to clear the stitching area. The free arms on these are like a sewing machine and can handle tubular items like onsies that open on both ends, but the way this is working on your multi needle I should be able to do the same thing on my machines. Off to try it! So glad I found this. :)
Most call it reverse hooping. I don’t have easy frames or fast frames. I use my mighty hoops to do this- I use a tear away in the hoop and cut out a space for stitching as well.
Just a question. Is the stabilizer not used to help hold the stitching. With no stabilizer where the stitches are will they not let go or loosen up eventually? Thanks
Stupid question warning: Does the bottom of the project incase the bobbin case and arm? I'm trying to do a glove, so I would stretch the glove all the way around the arm with the bobbin case? PR1050X machine
Personally, I use those green brand magnets that you use on name badges that are super strong. I think they sell them for quilting under the name of sew tites.
She was on needle one for this video but I think it works regardless of needle because your machine brings the selected needle to center before starting.
This was going to be my question. Do you adhere it to the underside of the item somehow? How do you make sure that there is enough stability to hold the stitches?
Some items (tote bags, backpacks, etc.) are heavy and sturdy enough that they don't need a stabilizer behind them. I sometimes float a piece on the back side for lighter weight fabrics. Cutaway or tearaway work equally well.
A real stocking would have been so much better. Or something small. 9:27 is exactly why. Still won't try this on a real stocking since I can't see how. It's not the same on the big zipper bag. 😕
Pam Phelps, the items I’d use this on( little bags, stockings, etc. ) are several layers thick usually, and when in doubt I put a piece of tear away on inside, held in place with 505.
Great tip/technique for those of us that embroider the odd objects. Brilliant. Thanks
would love to see a video of this done with a regular xmas sticking to see the space we have to fit it all especially when it moves

Your video was a lifesaver! I was stumped on how to embroider a dense woven stocking. It came out great. Thanks a million.
..and today I tried it. Worked out great. I'm just 4 years late....LOL Thanks.

Thank you so much! I have been fighting with hoops for years to make stocking!!! You saved me!!
This is a game changer. Finally got my nerve to do customer stockings works like a charm. Thank You Merry Christmas.!!!!!
Yes!!! I am so thankful for this video! I was struggling to embroider a tote bag pocket and this solved my issue! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I've taken stockings apart just to embroider them.

Thank you for your video it helps so much.
Very informative, thank you. I noticed that you have a light attached to your machine. Can you let me know where to get one.
Thank you! You just saved me a ton of extra work!
Do you have a video on a regular pe770 on how to
Live saver!! Thanks! :)
Great idea! You are a great thinker!!
Very clever!!! 😁Thanks💖
I would like to still see a stocking done and embroidered.... I am a visual, so i learn from step by step. Makes things hard sometimes.
I realize Im kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to watch new movies online?
Can you do a video on how to do the little stockings?
Just a question. Is the stabilizer not used to help hold the stitching. With no stabilizer where the stitches are will they not let go or loosen up eventually? Thanks
How do you keep it for embroidering both sides together and closing the opening
Have u tried doing shirt pockets with this method?
Video is great! The lights on the sides of the needle areas...did those come with the machine or are they separate accessories? I want them!
They are built into the brother entrepreneur six needle machine.

Yes!
How would you handle a vinyl type pouch? Pin holes would be present ?

Do you put stabilizer at the bottom?
I don't use sticky. I normally use WSS and pin my item to it.
Brilliant!
Are you using a certain needle to reference the margins

What about stabilizer for the actual stitching?

Would love to see a tutorial on your crossbody zipper bag!
I have a Persona PRS100 and am learning, is the bottom of the clutch underneath the bobbin arm?
Yes!
What is the website to order designs

You do it exactly the same way on a stocking. Just make sure your stocking will easily slip over the arm with enough wiggle room to move around a bit.
By doing this, how would there be any stabilizer under your design if you have torn away the sticky stabilizer?

Thanks so much - this will help me to do normal socks too! Much appreciated!!!
