I was kind of like that as a kid... ish
In elementary school in particular, I was "bffs" with these smart asf twins. They were in gifted, intellectual, had great personalities. I wasn't jealous in a way that I wished bad on them, but I was envious. I wanted to be more like them. I struggled, and still do, with my confidence.
I told my grandmother how I felt in like 4th grade, and instead of trying to uplift me, she said "well I guess you don't want a birthday then." They were the only people I invited over to my house (and trusted to be around my grandma).
That was just one small reason of many that made me turn inwards. I kept a lot to myself growing up because I didn't have many people to trust with my feelings. I'm sure a lot of people can relate.
I'm 23, and still dealing with the repercussions of the types of relationships that I grew up with. Happy healing ya'll!

this reminds me of a shit ton of my friends. They all get good or perfect grades, are pretty, and are overall so amazing. Meanwhile I am, as the song says, “a loser, a disgrace”. I don’t get the best of grades even when I try, I’m always tired, I am so useless in so many different ways. I’m literally nothing compared to them. I love them, and I’m happy for them due to their success. But I can’t help but wonder why I can’t be like them. One of them does just fine without even studying or anything.

Okay so here's another theory- a boy falls in love with his colleague, and they spent a lot of time together. He doesn't tell her he loves her yet. Eventually the girl falls for him too. Even though they didn't say it in words, they knew. After 2 years the boy decides to confess. He calls the girl, took her to a special place and proposes.
