    You may need to review the concept of buckling. The reason behind that is pretty simple. AS4100 use DSM approach.

      Hi Arash, thanks for your comment. The reason behind what? Can you elaborate please.
      The way a buckling analysis is intended to work in AS4100 is by using a critical buckling axial load (theoretical buckling load) together with the code reductions to account for second order effects.

    Is buckling analysis result diffrent from static linear or non linear analysis?
    The number of modes of structure is infinite or equal the number of freedom moves?

    Regarding the buckling analysis in robot, please could you tell me what are the slenderness ratio values (compression and tension) under the configuration window?, because I found on autodesk forum that (200 and 300) are for some other coutry codes (base on analogy), how you calculate ratios according to AS 4100, thank you, cheers, like your videos!

      Hi Tomislav, that's the maximun slenderness. 200 and 300 are default values. I can't find these numbers on AS 4100 either. What I've found online is that these values are adopted in the Canadian code.

      American Code/specification AISC 360, section E2 mentions effective slenderness KL/r should not exceed 200 for compression members. So you'd use that max limit if designing to AISC.

    Coach Pacu! Que isso hein?! Massa! Parabéns.
    Mas fiquei com uma duvida: no 7:43 voce diz o que fazer em seguida com O RESULTADO. Aí achei que ia vir a dica master blaster pro software de elementos finitos cuspir um valor mais realista que os 161kN. Mas pelo que entendi é pra jogar fora o output do software e fazer a conta na mão, do zero? Ou seja, nao usar o software? Porque nao vi onde que nessa segunda parte o valor do resultado do software(161kN) entrou como input pra chegar nos 110kN.

      Fala mestre, quanto tempo. O objetivo do video e alertar as pessoas quanto ao uso do valor que o software te dar. Esse valor no caso teria que ser reduzido para levar em consideracao os efeitos de segunda ordem. No caso da norma australiana eu posso usar esse 161kN para achar o modified member slenderness, como mostrado no processo do segundo calculo. No caso voce teria que dar uma olhada na NBR e ver o processo de calculo.
      Obviamente voce nao precisa fazer uma analise de flambagem no software para projetar somente uma coluna. Eu faria a mao. Mas esse video foi uma introducao. No proximo video eu mostro como voce pode se beneficiar com a Analise de Flambagem quando projetando uma estrutura.
