    There is not enough twist. If it is twisted so much that the yarn is under moderate strain, the finished rope is slightly springy, and much stronger than the total strength of the yarn.

    • @Nico71Fr
      @Nico71Fr  2 года назад

      That is why I show the gears-change to adjust the twisting force (I also explain that in the video).

    Nice video! I love this new format! From how you speak it's immediately recognizable that you are an engineer😁😉👍
    I would just like to suggest pronouncing some "technical" words a bit clearer, because sometimes it's a bit difficult to understand...but maybe it's just me. A part from that, the rest of the video was perfect👍.
    + Are you going to show your Honda f1 cars in a video too? I would love to see them...

    Could you set this up so it collectes on a spool instead of extending the cord out? 🤔

      I was thinking the same thing..

    • @Nico71Fr
      @Nico71Fr  3 года назад

      No it can not, as the reel is not powered. It works in this way because the reel are free to rotate and the pulling system pulls. But if you want to reverse, you need to reverse also the mechanical way of working, so motorizing reel and free "pulling" system :)

    Braiding Machine is quite a bit more complicated than twisting multiple wires/strands. You may want to add spinning some strands in the other direction in order to add a braiding feature. Otherwise, this is quite an interesting "lego game".

    • @Nico71Fr
      @Nico71Fr  3 года назад

      Hi, yes indeed, you can check my other braiding machine with 5 reels which is a real braiding machine with moving reels.

      @peta1001 3 года назад

      Nico71, if you meant your other project on ruclips.net/video/I9B1hqcAt1s/видео.html , then it is still a twisting machine. Your twisted rope can be easily untwisted because everything basically spins CW. The fact that you twist some of the strands separately, before main twisting does not make it a braiding machine. As I said before, you must have both CW and CCW spinning in the outside layer. I apologize if I am using a wrong video and definitely appreciate your creative projects...

      like the video says, this is actually plying, but with not enough twist.
