This was refreshing.
Have not read these but,
the second i need to and the first has my attention.
Cool!
Hi, Thomas! Very interesting discussions, esp of Knut Hamsun. I've been wanting to read Hunger ever since reading a great article on Hamsun by John Updike, I think in Picked-Up Pieces. Just got it for Kindle and Audible, so hopefully now it will happen. Down And Out is my favorite book by Orwell, along with Homage to Catalonia, Orwell's look at the Spanish Civil War. With those two books, Orwell helped me see how important and exciting non-fiction can be. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir!
Although I don't think I'd ever read these books, I found your discussion of them very interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for the kind comment!
I know I read STEPPENWOLF in the 60's but like so many things I read back then I don't remember so I got an e-copy. I also picked up a copy of DOWN AND OUT IN LONDON AND PARIS when I was in my buy 100 books before reading what I have. I will definitely pull that off the shelf. Just an aside, I watched CHERNOBYL yesterday and was utterly engrossed.
I need to watch that film as well!
I thought it was worth the time invested
