- Sea King is the most successful helicopter to date. Made to operate in all conditions, its first duty was to the Royal Navy in the anti-submarine role. It is famous for its life saving duties with the RAF. Over 300 were built of which many were exported.
There will never be a helicopter as based as the Westland Sea King
I guess it is pretty off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream new series online ?

El mas fascinante y el mejor helicóptero de la historia. No se construirá otro helicóptero tan completo como el Sea King, el cual es el mejor para tiempos de paz, como para tiempos de guerra. Dichosos los paises que los posean dentro sus Fuerzas Navales.
The Sea King has always been one of my all time favourite helicopters, and i was fascinated by the "Rescue" TV documentary in 1990, which followed the work of D Flight, 202 Sqn, RAF Lossiemouth, where some of these clips are from. They've been an icon for so long and I was sad when they were retired in 2018.

😍 I was lucky to see one landing on the beach at Barmouth.. I been obsessed with helicopters since I was little.. I live by Cosford airbase and when the chinooks go over I'm in that garden like a kid... But I'm the same with the air ambulance and police helicopters.. Maybe one day I might get around to taking a flight in one

@@marciamcgrail5889 no I don't go that far... I don't live by the coast I live in the Midlands by Cosford airbase.. so I have only seen a sea king on rare occasions.. But I see the chunuck going over a lot.. I've already got the 6yr old running out to look to...
@@debbieburton938 Haha! Can't start 'em too young, I say..my brother used to work on Seaking, Wessex etc during his Royal Navy days; now I binocular anything with rotors 🤣🤣
@@marciamcgrail5889 I don't blame you.. I don't have any.. Its mostly the police and air ambulance here.. I live in one of those cities were there in high demand.. My son is in milatery prep college and is thinking about the navy... Maybe one day I'll get around to a helicopter ride 😁
I was lucky as a young sea cadet our annual camp was at hms gannet 819 sqd & our highlight was a flight in a sea king winched up & down etc life time memories with my mates & used to see it a lot doing sar sadly missed big bus.....👏👍
My privilege to work on the HAR Mk3 for ten years.
...and mine to fly the Mk3 for more than 2000 hours.
Fit for purpose and I put my trust in one to transport my family to the Isles of Scilly. Westland make good choppers.😉
It is an amazing helicopter. I thought this was going to be a documentary. Instead it was just a marketing/sales pitch.

That's because it pretty much is lmao. An infomercial for politicians and military officials.
I pulled in to see my mum at hospital once. There was a bus in front of me in my small van. A sea king helicopter was coming in to land. The chopper ground guy stopped the bus as he said the down draft would’ve flipped the bus 😳

I spannered these on HMS Ark Royal with 824 Squadron, oh the stories.... During sonar sub hunting ops the a/c was put into autohover flight mode, it was very boring for the pilots as they had nothing to do but sit there. One of the sonar operators went forward and found both pilots sleeping, so he climbed out of the side door, along the aircraft fuselage to the cockpit window and banged on it with his fist. all while in autohover flight.The pilot nearly sharted himself to hear this, very startled indeed but by that time the aircrewman was back inside the rear fuselage, denying all knowledge of this. Oh how we laughed...
