  • A tutorial on how I create my kitchen towel sayings. I am showing you the Brother 2003D from 2003. A very well made machine. Newbies, look for this machine to adopt when you want to venture into embroidery with a large hoop.

Wow...interesting and just what I needed. I purchased an Ult 2001 in 2001 and I really like the quality of the machine. I downloaded the free version of embrilliance several years ago. I certainly need to get another external 3.5 disk drive. Thanks for ALL of your help!

Thank you so much! I bought a used one about 5 years ago for ,$150 with hundreds of disks but the floppy drive didn't work. Just opened it up last night and it came loose. We hooked it back up and it's working. I'm new to embroidery so now the fun begins!

I'm so glad you're 😊 back showing and teaching how to properly use sewing and embroidery machines. I'm looking to purchase an embroidery machine in the near future and your videos have been really helpful.

I bought my ULT2001 in the year 2000. It is still going strong (even thought I have a Quattro, a Dream3 and a Luminaire 3). I modified my ULt2001 by taking out the floppy disk drive and installed a USB drive.
The ULT series was one of the best series of models that Brother ever produced.

Interesting!!! You were able to install a USB connection!!! How you did it? I got an ULT2003D and have lots of problems trying to make the floppies work.

Oh, I found what you did!!!! You bought a Roland Fantom FA-76 Floppy Drive to USB emulator unit that looks like the floppy drive, opened the machine, and replaced the floppy drive with the emulator unit!!!! Clever!!!! I found it searching for these machines on Ebay!!!! I just got the machine and the emulator, and will take to my local Brother dealer to do the replacement!!!! Thanks again, our comment was and is greatly appreciated!!!! Now, I do not have to mess with any floppy disk or drive, just format a USB drive into floppy, set my computer with the proper drivers and that's it!!!! Thanks again!!!!!

What problem did the floppy drive give you? Mine still works like a champ.😂

Great video Christopher, I am so impressed you keep the vintage machines going, I do as well. i find the best things to do to keep them working in great shape is to run them with a back up power supply with enough power to power your machine while it is working if the regular power goes out or has an interruption while embroidering, this saves the circuit boards in your machines, I also do this on my modern machines, I also keep a Windows XP computer off line with all my vintage embroidery and other software on it, I keep extra hard drive copies in my safety deposit box ofsite so if the hard drive in the machine fails I can replace it in the tower easily, this works well as the computer is off line and never updates, so as I work on this computer I back up my creations to flash drives or DVD often.

You suggested using Embrilliance software, what version were you using? I am new to embroidery and just now found your videos. Thank you for your time.

I've been learning a lot from your videos . I know you don't like questions. But I would like your opinion on something. I'm sure you've tried a few. i have a trial for brother pe 11 which is limited and a partial on embrilliance also a hatch trial in full . I can't find the back step for Hatch lol. I've been leaning towards pe 11. Just curious on which you like better ? All the same kind of money I think.

Hi Christopher, Nice and very educating video!!!! You are making me more interested into these old but excellent machines, together with the entry level SE 625!!!! And these tutorials you are making about this ULT and SE machines are simply PHENOMENAL!!!!!! But I want to know, is the Floppy disc on the machine working? Do the machine reads and writes to the floppy? I am asking coz I am being offered an ULT2003 for 500.00 USD loaded with a PE-D card reader/writer and three re-writable cards, but no floppy discs, and there is a floppy disc collection on Ebay just for this machine. with 11 flopies @ 30.00 USD!!!!

I bought that ULT 2002D machine, serviced it, got the PE Writer with three blank cards, and I am using Embrilliance for all the designs to run in this machine, just like you!!!! Thanks a lot, your videos and lessons are UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!

Hey Christopher! I recently bought this machine used and have been trying to upload designs to my floppy disk. Once I put it in the machine, the designs aren’t loading. Do you have any suggestions?? I have them saved as PES files. Thank you!
