Love the take on Witherspoon. Watching some tape comparisons between him and any of the other guys Witherspoon is honestly in a tier of his own imo. Gonzalez is smooth on a track field with his background for sure. But come game time Witherspoon I think is a better football player, even if Gonzalez is the better athlete. I don't know if I've ever seen corner back tape quite like Witherspoon's. Some of his plays are unreal. I don't know how he read some of the plays as quickly as he does to beat blockers in the backfield on WR screens through multiple blocks. He seems to have incredibly high football intelligence. I think this is one of the aspects that stands out the most with him, isn't just his highlights, but its the play recognition along with his incredible stop/start burst movement and hitting that creates those highlight plays. Other players without his play recognition ability aren't making the plays he does even with equal athleticism in combine type #'s.
I'm hoping the Lions draft Devon at #6 regardless of what D-lineman are available.

Its funny how people look down on Stroud for playing in the Big 10 and they say he didn't face any CB talent compared to Bryce Young. Stroud played Dj Turner, Joey Porter Jr, Deonte Banks, Clark Phillips (Rose Bowl) and Kelee Ringo.

Those are isolated DBs. Against a team full of future NFL receivers. Bryce plays against teams with 5 stars all over the field every week. The best receiver Bryce ever had at Alabama was a receiver that had to transfer from Ohio State because he couldn't get enough playing time. He was 4th on Ohio States depth chart. The Big 10 is so far behind Ohio State as a conference its crazy, how they lost to Michigan twice is crazy. Michigan may have 4 kids that would see the field at Ohio State out of 22.

Some GM smart enough to snap him up prolly won't even initially know what super-value stud he just lucked into adding to his roster. The man does nothing but work on his game & conditioning. Even during the whole off-season, he's getting it in like a f#¢kin demon. Football is all the dude does/cares about.

Watched some of Witherspoons tape. He's very aggressive and has an edge like you said...he's an aggressive tackler as well (love to see that from corners). We need corners that are going to come up and stick someone.. they run 4.3 but do they play scared or is it lights out football ? That is where you make your decision with gamefilm over height weight 40 time etc.... #31 Witherspoon you know the answer... Did they let their balls drop yet? The only things I think is a problem for Witherspoon is that he plays a lot like bob sanders. Sanders was a safety but they play similar in that they sniff out a play and then they explode like a rocket to take out the ball carrier. He's not a full time scout with a team of people so he's not watching all games. Doesn't invalidate his opinions, just context to keep in mind.

I was guilty of the same thing years ago when I was getting on kids I coached in High School at a top California School. I was always thinking my DB at times was digging it on the field. He looked like he was on cruise control. So I got on him. He said look at the film. So I took a look at how he was gliding while the WR he was on looked like he was flying. And both were side by side and my DB could pick or defect every pass. He was long legged. That does matter and no one notices that aspect.

Kelee Ringo isn't better than Joey Porter Jr. Joey's arms are going to be a huge advantage no matter how you slice it up. I get that he is too handsy down the field, but I think coaches will love his height & huge arms just way too much. Kelee is so stiff when it comes to change of direction. Kelee doesn't look explosive enough. I would agree DJ is being overlooked, but I cant put him as 2nd best because of his size. At best, DJ should be behind Dante because of DJ's size.

Yes. The worst take I’ve heard all year. I commented above saying that it’s like saying Stephen Curry is a below average shooter. Ramsey is probably the most physical corner to play in the modern era. He hits like a safety and is excellent in run support.

Hooker could be the wildcard quarterback… If he was healthy, he might go in the first round because he's actually really good compared to the other guys. He might not have the same arm strength, but it's really close and his athleticism and running ability is good… Around CJ Stroud level.. he's also good in the pocket, and throws accurately short and midrange throws.
