Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past few months, t has been incredible!
Thanks Max.. some great tips there. My 8 year old son loves your videos, his 5k pb is 19.58 and im hoping to get sub 20 myself over the next few months. We are focusing on alot of variety mixed worked and ultimately time on feet! Loving the content!!
@@johnfarrell7958 Wow that’s so fast, fair play to him!! Great stuff. Thank you for your lovely comment, good luck to the both of you in your running 👊🏻
Add my 8yo son would love to know the location of the Stegosaurus allotments/garden at 4:45? Thanks for the tips!
@@alanpotter1298 Hi Alan, that would be Telford! It’s on the Telford 10k route 👍🏻
Great tips. As someone with bad knees, running on softer ground has helped a lot.
Great stuff! I’ve started to do more over the last year and I genuinely think it’s so underrated! A lot of Kenyan runners do workouts on softer surfaces too!
Thanks for the tips
@@JohnSmith-fe6xk no problem John!
Fantastic job of explaining this in very understandable terms. Great video!
@@RunningAllTheTyne thank you for your very kind words! Appreciate it 🙌🏻
Awesome advice here. Thank you
@@nickbloomfield4236 Thank you Nick, appreciate this 👊🏻
Funny you should mention the TT. 🤔
I managed to squeeze a 1 mile TT into my 5k block instead of a session about 4 weeks before my PB attempt and didnt even think about how much benefit a really good hard blast would have, but it does make a lot of sense.
A lot of good tips here. Gives me confidence that im starting to build my weeks the right way. 🎉
Top video Max, as always mate.👌
@@TheRegularRunner mate that’s awesome!! How did the TT go? I find them terrifying but if you can time it right in the block it can make a BIG difference!
How’s the training going?
@Maxkelly600 My TT was to try and claim back a 7:36 mile PB that Strava didn't give me because it rounded the distance down. I ended up running a 6:59, which when I put that time into v-dot was a massive over performance 🤣 I wasn't thinking about the physiological training benefit, so much as the psychological benefit of knowing I had done a dress rehearsal and run a solid time ahead of my A goal target.
Training has been a bit naff this week to be honest. I've had a long busy week at work and just not been in the right head space to train properly and Becky has been struck with an ear infection that has affected her balance. I ended up taking an easy week and just doing some easy runs. We are hoping to get back on the wagon next week 👍
Hope you training is ticking along nicely mate!
@ that’s a seriously good time mate!! Well done for doing it and for going out of your comfort zone. Genuinly try to do one TT per race block!
Sorry to hear about Becky’s ear infection, hope she’s ok! I’ve had similar balance/ dizziness issues with ear infections, nasty stuff!
Never an issue with a de load week - I actually think it should be done more often!!
Run on grass, or treadmill. Less impact. Treadmill also great for longer hill sessions that can be difficult to find close to home
@@edwardsouthan4057 great advice! I love grass running!
If i run on tresdmill, put it at a 3% incline, how close (roughly) is the time from the treadmill to what id get on the road?? I did sub 20min 5km today on the treadmill, with a 3% incline (very noticable on the legs) so because i had the incline, does the treadmill time covert the same or close to the same on the road?? Thank you
@@na-dk9vm amazing, well done on hitting that sub 20! I don’t know the full ins and outs of treadmill settings, I was always told to put the incline on 1% to replicate road running!
@Maxkelly600 thanks max. Ok so if I'm at 3% incline, it's safe to say that it'd (roughly) be around same time on the road??
How many kilometers do you run a week?
Typically between 80-110km!
22-25km
