Your playing solo you run all the way to tisy, no one there. You loot. You hide in a sniper nest, eat some peaches . Organize your gear, wait for target. Not so bad.

In a normal game of DayZ though, when you've got someone cornered and can't push them without risking too much, you're supposed to *talk*.
In my opinion camping is annoying, if it is obvious someone just sits inside a common trafficed place with the intention: "Someone will come through here, and when they do, I will kill them". Tactical positioning is, when you expect a firefight/ midst a firefight decide to use the buildings for your advantage.
Camping is if you are specifically staying in one spot in order to pray on people and kill them. If you on the other hand, get shot at and run to one of these locations to protect yourself, then it is tactical positioning.

Noted, fact that I play solo 99% of the time I'm at an extreme disadvantage when it comes to military zones. Most of my friends don't play anymore. We used to be a 6-8 man squad rolling the wasteland 🤠
@AHOB Oktober I'm not the biggest fan of mods in dayz unless they are subtle. All the traders, money, extreme base building, and such make it into a completely different game. It just doesn't feel rewarding, and doesn't feel like a survival game anymore. If I wanted those crazy mods, and too many guns to count, I would just go play some Arma 2 DayZ.

I'm loving the quest with bullet physics so far, and I'm looking forward to that website you keep mentioning. However, I think you should have a classification system for levels of bullets so instead of saying "these bullets can penetrate this building" and listing them on screen, you could classify certain bullets with their power, where they're found, etc. You could have "military bullets" (7.62x39, .308 WIN, 7.62x54, 5.45x39, and 5.56x45), and also add bullet types such as police, civilian, hunting, etc. This is just a suggestion (though I'd be blown away to see it implemented) and I'm happy to see where this quest goes. Thanks for the suggestion and watching! That's a great idea and I'd love to simplify it that much, but then confusion between what is military and what is not would occur. For example the BK-18 isn't military but fires 'military rounds', where the UMP is military but fires 'non-military rounds'. But I'll think about your suggestion thanks.
I think camping is setting up at a spot to pray on people you have not been in a fight with in the recent past (last few minutes). I had a situation where at a military base my buddy caught a face full of 5.56 from an M16 and so I laid down in the tent I was in and let the guy come to me instead of me pushing him.

Great video as always, but regarding those fuel and oil tanks.....be wary on modded servers, as 3 of our 5 servers running the JunkYardDog mod, which allows you to fill fuel from the biggish horizontal tanks like you pictured, as well as allow them to EXPLODE....as well as the huge oil tanks, and the bigger they are, the bigger the explosions.

Regarding the high-rise apartments at the end of the video, I recently found out that the rooms you can't normally enter, the ones with bars on them....are actually rooms that CAN be entered. The bottom floor has invisible walls not allowing you to jump in from the outside (which is how you must get in)...but....if someone was to use them as a base, and has built structures outside that gives them the ability to access the outside of any floor from 2 up. So I recently built a ridiculously large base involving 3 apartment buildings in Nova Petrovka...it's literally massive and completely encapsulates 3 apartment buildings, 2 on one side of the street, and then the 3rd across the road. You can hop right through the windows on the outside, and if you walk towards the walls were doors "should be"(they're "solid" walls with no visible door after 1st floor) you'll walk right through the wall...but the rooms are completely rendered, well mostly...TONS of areas to literally disappear. Thinking about those servers with "bounties" placed on players... definitely a fantastic hiding spot, nobody would even understand how you were in those rooms.
@@THIS---GUY oh I don't have one there anymore, but you know the regular taller apartments, like in Dubovo down south near Ballota Airfield, just east of the airfield, those apartments have rooms, but from the inside you can only go in a few of the rooms, but from the outside, if you were to be high enough, you can enter those typically inaccessible rooms. Sadly I don't think I took any pictures of that base, on Chernarus now I have a base on the cliffs above Svetlo, on DeerIsle I have a base on the cliffs, on Winter Chernarus I have a base on the cliffs NW if Cherno, on Namalsk I have a base on the snow covered mountain, actually towards the base of the mountain near, just north of A2, and on Livonia I have a base on, literally on the lake near, just east of Lembork. I like building bases, and we have like 7 servers, so lol

Camping and strategic positioning are the same thing. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I don't generally don't have a problem with it, especially in DayZ where encounters are rare. I do have a problem with 3rd-person camping rooftops, camping safe zones and camping on RP servers.
I've never heard anybody mention this, but did you know that if you use a lock pick on a train car, it can not be punched/shot open, you have to use another lockpick to reopen it
Do you use a specific test server for this footage? I really have been wanting to test things out like you are to get a general feel for the game but I don't know how or what to do for it
A lot of the buildings in the lower tiers have saved my life a lot of times. I think its because people dont want to waste ammo by shooting at something they can't see. Concealment is more powerful than cover in this game.
I agree with @tony bandana it’s tactical positioning in the military there is no such thing as “camping” in the military there is a term for this your called a “dead man” if you don’t think tactical it is after all life or death hence why you restart in DayZ from the beginning a fresh character not like all the other games like halo, battlefield, CoD, and so on.

camping is a play style of the kind of player who dreads the head on fight and mostly only gets there kills by the enemy failing to check that 100th corner they will let most of there targets go unless its 99.5% chance of getting a back stab.. they are the kind of player who likes to shot people in the back....how ever placing a few squads in a few buildings around a town that is providing a security.
my brother once called dayz camping simulator, i believe because of how much time dayz consumes nothing in the game is unjustified, especially camping.

See i played dayz on ps4 for 1 year and jist learned about bullet penetration i thought u cant shooy through stuff bc it looks like the structure just obsorbes the bullet. And alshi must people dint shoot through walls on console it's too much lag
"Camping" and "tactical positioning" are basically the same thing. The difference is the player. If the player has any skill, or tactical thought process... it's tactical positioning. If not, it's camping.
