Thank you so much! And no, it's not quite a seasonally appropriate outfit here at the base of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, hahahah. I'll go outside in it anyway, though.
I usually don't respond to rude comments on here, but in this case, I'd like to point out that I've worked VERY hard to become a good bassist and grow my Twitch stream (which is where this playthrough came from) and YT channel without any conscious use of sexualized tropes or relying on my appearance to get to this point. I'm a chubby middle-aged Hobbit-woman playing nerdy and/or obscure metal in my bedroom on the least popular instrument on which to do that as a solo player, my guy. Not exactly a cute young hot tub streamer or TikTok dancer here. I've learned to play bass almost entirely in front of a live audience over the last almost-4 years (since January 2020), making TONS of mistakes and playing lots of bum notes as I did so. In less than 4 years, I've gone from trying to remember where my frets were to playing very difficult songs from Unleash the Archers and Galneryus reasonably competently, and I really do not appreciate being reduced to my gender when I've clearly put in a heck of a lot of practice and hard work to get to where I am now. The comments here, by the way, are largely from people who have been following my progress over the past few years and/or who are involved with the North American and Western European metal band communities on Twitch, Discord, and Facebook. I've been working with DragonForce on their official Twitch and Discord channels for nearly 5 years (and have been friends with them for 17+ years), personally recruited Unleash the Archers to Twitch and Discord when they were opening for DragonForce in March 2020, and have been integral in building and maintaining both of those communities and several others that I've been asked to help with over the past 3.5-5 years. All the work I've put into all of that networking and community building and all the effort I have made into making those places kind, supportive, and tolerant is why people come to my own streams and vids and support me in return. I've put a LOT of effort into making the NA/EU metal community a nicer space for women over the years, and I'm very personally aware of the fact that women have historically *not* had it easy in the metal world (as either musicians or community members) until fairly recently. That's also why I am responding to you with this long, thoughtful post rather than just deleting your comment just like I do with all the ones about my boobs and body. I am NOT here for that, and I don't appreciate it. Perhaps if you spent more time practicing an instrument, networking with peers, and building a supportive community instead of making rude comments to women on the internet, you'd find that men actually have it much easier than you seem to think they do when they actually put more than the bare minimum effort into whatever they're trying to accomplish.
Wow 😍 What a queen
Mali you legend! great job ;D
Rock on! Also the fanned fret bass looks killer 🤘
Thank you so much!
Great song! Well played. Also, I'm jealous if that's a seasonally appropriate outfit in January wherever you are - it certainly isn't where I am 😝

@@DiesMali Haha - well you're rocking it, so why not! I'm suspect it looks less out of place than it would over here in England at the moment.
Good job!
Thank you very much! :D
This video and these comments prove women have it alot easier in life than men.
