This is amazing, I'll be doing a project very much like this soon and it’s crazy how little reference or material is on the internet regarding full racing fairing fabrication. This video is the exact reference I’m looking for, thank you very much for documenting, it will help a lot! Can’t wait to see the rest of the project!
Haha I’m not sure about amazing but thanks anyway. Glad I could help though. Obviously if you’re looking to do a more professional fairing you might use clay to sculpt it and then take moulds of it to then produce the final fibreglass panels.
That's a really good looking fairing, very retro vibes. You've probably thought about it, some metal rods to 'support' the visor area would look good too. Amazing job!
Fun to watch. As you might already have thought, eventually, I'd imagine having rubber washers between any metal and faring fibreglass would be good. Could even use trimmed up bicycle inner tube if it's not showing. We sculpt a lot of foam in movie sets, and one tool that's handy for the initial sculpting of the shape is a curry comb for pets or horses. You could also make one out of saw blades and a wood handle. The surform rasp you have is the other tool we use. Just the ticket.
Looking great buddy how you can sculpture something from nothing is awesome 👌 would you need to heat wrap the exhaust now or can just sick the reflective type engine bay wrap to inside of the panel just curious 😊
Cheers dude. It’ll be having a different exhaust and then I’m thinking both wrap and gold tape, just so there’s the most protection for the paint as possible.
Yeah my mate gave me the heads on them on the weekend. I’ve seen them in the past but totally forgot they existed. It’ll either be the m5 button head bolts or dzus. Possibly a combo of both.

Thanks! Yeah there will be something at the front. Also I’m probably going to swap out the brackets I made in this video to threaded rods too.

I hadn’t lol but I’ll keep that in mind! Thanks for that. I’ll have to get one of them for my next bike. Thanks!
This is looking really good. Can’t wait to see the finished product. May have to pop in for a coffee again

Love where this is going matey.. Personal preference.. Lose that front mudguard..
Haha yeah it’s getting chopped down into a mini version.
To aid easy removal of the fairing you might find it better to use dzus fasteners

shame to cover the engine up fully
There will probably be some areas visible in the next video.
