i wanna skate so bad but I can’t do it alone in a skatepark I need a friend or else i’ll get anxious as hell 💀💀
You could be a drive way skater for a bit and when you get good enough you can teach your friends how to skate. I taught my friends how to skate and now all 3 of us skate together, I’m still a bit better than them so they can’t really teach me but it’s still fun!

Nice video! I have been skating for over 20 years now. Here's a few tips that might help you.
1. Tighten up your trucks. Yours look a bit loose for a beginner. As you get better, you'll naturally loosen them up.
2. Expect to fall, a lot. Even the best skaters fall all the time.
3. Master the fundamentals. e.g. Have a solid ollie on flat ground before you start learning flip tricks. There's no rush. Skateboarding is a marathon, not a sprint.
4. HAVE FUN! Don't get mad or frustrated when you can't land a trick. You'll get it eventually.

Oml, not at all. I'm genuinely terrified of just faceplanting in front of a bunch of other really good skaters- I'm making my friend who also wants to learn join me :')

the fact that you were skating around other people is crazy because I would go back to my car if I saw other people at the skate park because I would feel like they would be judging me
If social anxiety is ur problem then I would recommend going early like 6 to 10 am

Falling is a big part of skating even the best of skaters have really nasty falls but i can understand the embarrassment but most skaters are so supportive even if you don’t land a trick they won’t make fun of you at all and if they do ignore them
@@petethepigeon6456 of social anxiety is the problem I would recommend getting over it just once and realise everyone will be nice and the worst thing you'll have to deal with is good skaters ignoring you because they are busy doing stuff. everyone knows skateboarding is hard...

Easier to learn tricks once you get CONFORTABLE on the board. Make sure youre very comfortable if youre scared of falling. You will less likely fall if you are stable.

Wise words, pretty good for just getting started. Keep your front foot on or just behind the bolts. Keep posting, would be cool to see a progress series from a beginners perspective.
Ollies took me a year to learn but shuvs and 180s were easy. Every one is different and has their own style. My favorite thing about skateboarding. Play skate with people better than you, ask for tips. Skaters are usually kind. Though the gatekeeper types are really loud. Don’t let them discourage you. You got this.
It took me 2 yrs to straighten my Ollie’s I’ve only learned 3 tricks fs/bs180 and ollie

Definitely not. I heard sales of skateboards went up a lot because of the pandemic. I started up again after 20 years.

I just bought a skateboard and been going out and about when it’s dry. Haven’t skated since late 90’s. More people walking on the pavements during lockdown though.
@@chuchii2706 Yup. I skated pretty much all through high school in the late 80s. Then stopped for about 10 years. Then, started up, and injured my ankle and I figured that was the last of my skating activities. However, I had been running on a treadmill and although my ankle is a little off, it must have helped it somewhat. I've been skating pretty regularly and surprisingly, my ankles and everything else has pretty much been fine. Though I've for the most part been reduced to a newbie at this point. I definitely won't be olliing down stair cases or anything like that. I've pretty much been strictly flatland so far. Getting my ollies back and learning to just tic-tac and ride switch. When I skated in the 80s, they didn't have dual tails like they have now. So, I've been entertaining myself with that. I figure if I could at least do something like Stacy Peralta, I'll be happy. I've been working on my balance a lot and trying to get my manuals down. So, I'm only doing the very basics at this point, but, glad that I'm back, as I figured it was curtains for my skating after I injured my ankle.

love this vid!! quick little tip: i noticed as you were screwing your trucks on, you screwed on the screws side to side. instead, tighten the trucks in a crisscross pattern, like do the northwest screw first, then southeast. this will ensure that the weight of the board will be distributed evenly throughout the axels. It will make your board ride a lot smoother and safer :)

So, I’m not a master at skating but you should train in this pattern! :)
1. Balancing/making sure you can stay up
2.going to a park/neighborhood to skate
3.go to a skating park
4. Do tricks/new moves, etc!

The only major issue is that it doesn’t roll. I think if you swapped out the wheels and bearings then it wouldn’t be a bad setup!

I'm a beginner in skateboarding, and yesterday I was skating for such a long time that I broke my muscle part in my leg (my english isn't that good) this was a lesson of knowing when to stop and come back the next day. 😰

When you try to ollie the way I learned was to slide your front foot up and roll your ankle just a little bit I think it still works without rolling it and remember to bend your knees before doing a trick or dropping in just to get momentum and not to fall off the sk8 board if you notice when you don't bend your knees it feels and looks stiff hope this helps!😃💜

I went to a skatepark for the first time with other noob friends and some guy came by to give us tips. I told him it was nice to know everyone wasn’t judging us for being bad and he replied that everyone was at our point at some point.
Trying to get better is not embarrassing, it’s amazing and cool we put that effort in!
That skatepark look dope, plus the video was wildly entertaining especially the fall
I love to see new skaters one thing I’d recommend is to always keep trying!!!! It took 3 long months for me to learn how to Ollie because I kept going and try not to spend too much money

Yeah I just got my long board two days ago ( I've been practicing since I got it) but I fell off my board for the first time today. Hurt my ankle and I'm dramatic so I thought I broke it. Got up a couple minutes later and got back on the board.

I recently got a skateboard as i have many friends who have them and it looked like it'd be fun to try! (the majority just have cruiser penny boards (solid wood ones, not those plastic ones-) I asked my parents and they let me order it, at first i just s a t on it (a few of my friends did this too from time to time just because, even if they could ride it fine standing.) my brother asked if he could try, he's never had or tried a skateboard before but was pretty good at it and has really good balance! He let me lean on him at first which helped a lot as my biggest fear was getting on it point blank (was afraid it'd move and i'd fall). we worked on it for around an hour on and off (we were doing this in our 2 car garage) and i was able to go from one side to the other, around noon today i was testing the waters (alone this time, was much more anxious as my brother wasnt there but it went well!) around 5pm today I took it out onto the sidewalk because i wanted to try and push my limits, it took a bit but i got it! i was outside with some friends until around 7 (they all had to go) and I just decided to practice some more, after i felt i could ride decently on the sidewalk i took it to the road (no cars, lot less busy & we have a lot of street lights so it wasn't dangerous.) and after 24 hours, i feel i am starting to get the hang of it! is super fun and i am glad i decided to get one!

I love seeing that you are setting up your own board up! Its good to learn what everything is and what it does from the start! I do have a little advice for you. Always always cut away from your hand and yourself when trimming off access grip tape the best you can!! One slip with that razor blade and it will open you up faster then a 10 yr old opens presents on christmas morning lol Jokes aside, Razors do a lot of damage with a little effort. So, Please be safe!!
As far as your skating goes, great flippin job! Try and focus on simply skating around getting GOOD at mobility and getting comfortable on your board, this will build a solid foundation and make learning new tricks 100x easier! Keep working on balance and getting on an off your board. Don't get too caught up in worrying about learning dropping in and ollie right off the bat. First put majority of your effort into learning to push an pump around the park and the streets! Get those basics down and everything else will fall into place the more you skate! This might sound counterproductive but also learning how to properly fall is so important!! There is an art to falling and learning how to do it will save you from getting hurt a huge portion of the time. Great vid Wind! I will sub to watch your progress! Keep it up
