Holy shit. Here's a point....floors it. Good lord. Vette and Mustang. WTH with the Z at the beginning on the f. straight with the signal to the wrong side and almost pushed the guy off.
I nicknamed our yellow group the "shit show." People learned to stay away from the C8's and a couple other cars. One dude had a rock thrown from that very C8 that cracked his front window. It was stupid silly.
@karstgeo7290 I believe it will be better. I'm sure they take safety seriously. I will be there too. If they continue allowing this behavior, I will go to the red group. Or take my $$ to another event. I go average 10x a year so their loss.
Can't tell you how many times that's happened to me in yellow. Made the jump to black this last event and I could not be happier with the level of driving.
I am doing one more event with them this year. I'll get a check ride to black on the last day. There were just too many folks who respectfully did not need to be in this group.
I have 2 more recorded sessions of 8/31, including a couple of 9/1. They are all as silly as the worst I captured. I hope they take these recorded actions of others and hold people accountable to everyone's safety. I know the inherent danger of track driving. I also understand how they (track daze) can distance themselves from incidents. But they guy in the #33 c8 having NO TAILIGHTS! c'mon.
There is nothing worse than being in a group of unaware drivers. And it seems that Track Daze did little to vet out the driver or to even do any kind of inspection of cars. I did an event with them back about 12 years ago at NJMP and they were like that then. I know going with a BMWCCA chapter sometimes seem to be over the top with rules and instruction (teaching) but I’ll take them over a lot of the commercial event organizers just because I have seen very little crap like that out on the track, in any run group. Hope your next event goes better. BYTW - VIR is a bucket list of tracks I would like to visit.
I agree with the vetting, I also think that working through issues in drivers meetings and 1 to 1 respectful talk should encourage introspection and better awareness... I have run with Track Daze multiple times over the years. I was only there 2 out of the three days. After bringing up issues, it was basically said to get a check ride up to black group, amongst other things. I will next time. I just want to be made sure that this was not about $$ but a gross oversight. I'm not sure it's the case. I have done events with BMWCCA as well, yes, they are big-time sticklers on rules and behaviors, but I have never and most likely never will have an event like this with them. I will give another event a go with them, but if things stay the same, my $$$ will go elsewhere. Most likely to VIR Club.
@@m3anzcp050 Hope your next event is better. I got a chuckle out of their reaction being to move you to another group. That’s OK if you are ready to move up. However, their reaction should have been to say that they would make the effort to improve the driving of the group you were in. Not the sort of mentality of an event organizer I would be involved with. Stay safe out there.
Very poor driving on the part of the C8. You did the correct thing by coming into the pits and letting track officials know. I heard several complaints this past weekend about drivers of fast cars not allowing faster drivers to pass. I'd like to see drivers demoted for poor behavior, particularly if there is video evidence. Put the driver in a lower group and make them take a check ride to move back up, or sit them out for a session and have a longer talk with them. There are too many drivers that have moved up, but don't have the skill or etiquette to be solo or advanced. It is up to the organization, TrackDaze in this case, to enforce better driving and behavior.
"You have to lift!" Love it... and I feel your pain!

@@m3anzcp050 did this get hashed out in the classroom session?

I should have complained as well. Red corvette blocked me a couple of times and he brake checked me in nascar one time and I went two wheels off.

Those Corvette drivers pissed everyone off this weekend.
Not all of them. There was a lady in a red C7 who was cool. (not the infamous Red C8 #33).
Chill it’s only a PT By…
Man, you were not there. Go on somewhere with that bs.
