Keep in mind you only heard his side to why he was fired. There may have been a legitimate reason he was fired but people who are fired don't always want to share the real reason. I ran a business for 32 years and had to fire my fair share. For an example I had to fire someone for stealing but their version was I fired them because of race. No. He actually got fired for the exact reason he said: he was already a 30 year veteran of the Loudoun police force, but when the sheriff was sworn in he fired Mark McCaffrey because McCaffrey supported someone else in the election for sheriff. You'd think that would be illegal, but in Virginia it's legal & McCaffrey lost his lawsuit. And the community lost an amazing police officer. AND an amazing police officer's wife, from the sounds of things.

We’ve been trying to get rid of the county clerks for 10 years. Two of the employees have told me they are told they will lose their jobs if they don’t get re-elected. They are all Hispanic. One of the sheriffs killed a man in front of the mans daughter. She was only 15. He didn’t even spend one night in jail. The next Sheriff’s election every sign supported a new sheriff and that person didn’t win. Several of us have called the attorney general complaining over the years and that office just says it’s an elected position and nothing can be done except to vote them out. Which is impossible. Disgusting.

When she got there she realized right away what had happened. This was in the 70’s. He was supposed to pay $100 a month in child support for 3 kids. He never paid a dime.
