Writing my plan week to week (or maybe month to month) and doing it in erasable pen has been the best way to go for me. And we continue through the summer until we finish or, for anything that’s not really level by level, we just continue on through the summer and into the next year. That takes the pressure off of feeling like things need to be done by a certain day or week for “summer break”.
This was awesome Emily! I’m in the throws of our newish school year still continuing with BYL level 3 history and will later start for the first time American history, using level 5. But we’re starting a new science unit using BYL level 3 science😀 microscopy but not sure if we’ll continue into chemistry or move over to biology, that depends on my son who will decide. I usually wing it but I’m finding that as he’s moving up to grade 6, winging it is not cutting it anymore and this video has given me the best of both worlds. Thank you.
I hope you’ll give us more video tidbits as you dive into your new school year using level 8 & 9 with your daughter, and how you weave in math and other language arts like grammar and writing. I know I shouldn’t plan ahead but fingers crossed and a lot of steering,😀 I hope to do level 8 with my son when he gets to grade 9.
I backwards plan lol idk how else to explain it. I write down everything we do either after we've done it or as we are doing it. I got a 5 dollar planner from the dollar store and a pretty note book from 5 below. The planner is for writting down curriculum.. and the notebook I'm using to write all the books down that we read this school year. 😊

Hey, we’re trying out Denison this year also!
I’m here for the puzzles, you know Bella did the same to me 😂 Thank You for sharing my review ❤

Lol, as a very new homeschooler, I combined BYL level 10 and 12 for my high school senior. I had to modify some things, but it can be done!
This is the 3rd time I heard Denison math today. Would love to see an update on it. We’d love to try it next year.
I am looking forward to seeing how Denison Algebra works for you, we are planning on it for next year, which will be 8th grade.
Thanks for all the great advice and tips! ❤
We are on our 3rd year of BYL (Lvl 6). All of your hard work makes our planning super easy! 😍😍😍😍

My daughter also put me through the challenge of combining level 8 & 9 for this year 🤣
I get it! They are both great levels, and it's hard to choose, lol.
"Resist the urge to plan out your whole year at once. Seriously, don't do it."
-Cosign this one (even though every year I want to)
It's always so tempting! But all that work is often wasted when things don't go as I had planned. I've learned that lesson more than once.
