When the upgrade says that it is the ultimate master of magic, it not only means that it attacks faster and does more damage, but it also gains the tier 3 abilities of both of the other wizard monkey paths since it is supposed to be a master of magic. A 5-0-0 is more or less equivalent to a 4-3-3 with overall buffs to damage and attack speed and the like.
