EFREN REYES is still the GOAT - - - I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball (race to three). Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!
While I believe Efren is "The Goat", these pockets buckets !!! The ball hit the cushion way back from the pockets, & still go in ? Enormous pockets .... put these players on an Australian competition 8 ball table, & let's see how they pot balls then ?? Efren never plays in Australia!!
Australian tables do have smaller pockets, but the balls are also smaller. That's why there are differences. American tables 2 1/4" balls Australian 2" balls. So even a small adjustment can make a difference. Efren has played plenty of matches on traditional equipment with narrow pockets and standard American-size billiard balls though. He plays quite well on them.
@chadmontgomery3338 the American pockets are cut differently! There's no way on an Australian table, you can hit the cushion 2-3 inches away, & it still goes in.... we laugh when we see these shots ! They won't come to Australia when it's our turn for the World 8 ball champs... the last one, in 2024 was supposed to be here, but their excuse was its too far away, yet we always send rep. teams.... it's a joke !
I have 4 " pockets on my table ( in the usa) and the ball Never goes in if it hits the rail first. How wide is that gap that they deal with in these tournaments. I think they would miss alot more if they were narrower!
Always a pleasure watching The Magician! Also, great editing job between shots.
Lo que juega todavia!! 👏👏👏
He still got it. Efren Reyes the GOAT

What a treat this was! Efren still making amazing shots in his 70s. Also, thanks for skipping the time between shots! 🫡

Baianinho de Mauá venceria ambos, usando apenas 1 das mãos pra jogar.
