I love the fact that Jessie stories give hope for love, in story Asher loved Sondra with all her flaws and he helped Sondra to see life in a different screen. ✅️ I love the biblical scriptures and how Sondra got closer to God, thank you @Jessie Gussman for another great audiobook story and @sayitwithJay you amaze me all the time thank you 😊
Asher and Sondra have such an absolutely wonderful story. This is just another of the books by Jessie that is narrated so beautifully by Jay. He serenades us this time with two hymns singing harmony with himself. He is so very talented and so grateful he is willing to share his talent with us. Thank you, Jessie and Jay for this great story presentation.
Thank you, Karen - it's my privilege to share any meager talent the good Lord's given me, and to have the opportunity to work with someone as wonderfully talented as Jessie!
Another great story with Biblical and common sense wisdom. Thank you, Jessie, for a sweet story and Jay for bringing it to life. I love being able to listen to a story and still be productive. ❤
Love how Jessie can bring truth to life. I didn’t recognize some of my addictions as addictions and how sad it is spend more time with my entertainment than I do with God.
This story was very enlightening. Love how Sondra grew in the Lord and how important it is to out her faith and trust in the Lord. Loved the hymns. Jay you out did yourself in the singing. Loved this story. Thank you for this story.
An unexpected cabin trip makes for an interesting start to the story. Asher is an interesting character that I was happy to learn more about and hadn’t expected he would take Sondra to his cabin out in Montana. Overall good story and good reading.
I didn’t expect to care for Sandra after meeting her in another book. Loved the interaction of Asher and Sandra! Her character developed so much during this book. Since her parents didn’t give her the time of day she resorted to “make believe “. Asher encouraged and helped her to grow so much! Loved this book!
“Love meant spending time with someone. Love meant knowing them. Knowing their likes and dislikes, and talking to them too.” I’ll admit, I was a bit wary coming into this book. I had not gotten a good image of Sondra from the last book. And, I was a little miffed that she was getting her romance next. I could never have expected how this forced proximity romance would go. It was amazing! I loved the heavy focus on the Psalms. I’m actually reading through them right now myself. Anxiety is something I’ve dealt and I thought it was interesting how Sandra used social media and entertainment to manage it. I liked how strong the emphasis on Christ rather than fear was also. Psalms, singing, nature, unplugging, a longtime crush, and so much more. I’m really looking forward to more of this series - a series with danger and suspense.
I loved this heartwarming love story of Asher and Sondra.in Sweetwater, ND. The story starts out funny when Asher kidnaps Sondra as a means to get her away from Ezra after he broke up with Sondra to marry Alaska on the same day. Asher was taking her to his remote rustic cabin he built himself eight hours away in the mountains of Montana. Sondra learns the hard way that there is no cell service, no electricinty to recharge her phone to keep up with her social media sites, and the only bathroom is an outhouse or a bedpan, and a woodstove for heating and cooking. Asher planned on staying there a week so he could get Sondra to love him the way he loved her. She is so afraid of everything at the cabin and having no tv to follow all the shows she is obsessed with that Asher agrees to take her home the next day. When Sondra wakes up the next morning and can't find Asher but remembered that he had planned to cut firewood to have for the next time he returned to the cabin before he was going to drive her back home, she went looking for him. She found him unconscious and bleeding from a head wound with a large tree limb across his back. That was the turning point in their relationship when Sondra had to rely on God to figure out how to help Asher survive and help him heal. That part of the story was so intense that I couldn't stop. This is one of the best books that Jessie has written, and Jay's narrative especially his singing a two part harmony in chapter fourteen was awe inspiring. I highly recommend this Christian romance with a HEA ending. This is my voluntary and honest review.
A lovely story! Inspiring and funny... I couldn't stand Sondra, like if she was someone real, I wouldn't have given her a chance... Another lesson in life by Jessie... Thank you for your voice work, Jay!
Asher Clybourne has had a crush on Sondra for a while. In order to get her away from his brother and new wife, he takes her to his rustic cabin planning to stay a week, but he is injured by a falling tree limb and they stay longer during which time Sondra has to unplug from media and learns to rely on God and His promises. A great and engaging story of growing love both for each other and God.
Okay my favorite book so far in the series I love Sondra and Asher together definitely glad she has anxiety it made her relatable to all of us with it oh and I love that you use the KJV bible
I love these these books and I adore Jay as he reads! However, as a Christian book with the main character as a man of God Asher should NEVER have taken her to a cabin alone! Ever. I am disappointed in this plot. 😔 I do appreciate how Jesse is able to balance the characters' passion with tastefulness.
Hi Renee! Thanks so much for your kind words about passion and tastefulness. I try not to write anything that makes me squirm when Jay performs it. (I, too, love listening to him!) I'm sorry you're disappointed in the plot. I agree in practice and example (as in, Christians should set a good example for those coming behind us), and, if I recall correctly, they ended up in bed together (innocent, but still), which is even worse, right? But, even though I agree with you, there was no sin committed, correct? I'm not arguing with you, because I understand your point - it is a bad idea to be alone with someone you're not married to (think Amnon and Tamar in II Samuel 13) since it *could* lead to sin. When I write something like that (something that is not sin, but could lead to sin), I usually try to have the characters thinking about that and realizing that they're not making the best choice. I'm not sure I did that in this case, although I think that would make a great discussion question. I talk to my kids all the time about how sin is a slippery slope, having boundaries for yourself and that type of thing. Anyway, thanks for the reminder that it's important to show that.
Wow! I am pleasantly shocked to not only hear from the author but to hear you understand my point! Thank you so much for responding in such a kind and gentle way! ❤😮🥰
Thanks for another great story! To bad you two can’t write and narrate as fast as I can listen 😁 Is there an option to pay for a year and not do monthly payments? Thanks
Tell me about it, Jan! 😁 (For your question, I assume you're talking about the channel membership, right? If so, the payment mechanism is completely controlled by RUclips, and I think monthly is the only payment choice they offer. I sure would love it if they took your suggestion, though!)
I will admit I didn't really like Sondra in the previous book. She seemed very out of touch with reality and very pushy. She engaged herself to Asher Clybourne's older brother, but Asher has always had a crush on her Since he was younger, Sondra never considered Asher as an interest. When Asher takes Sondra away from the family's ranch to let his brother and sister-in-law get some time together, he has ulterior motives. He decides to travel several hours away to his remote cabin hoping that after spending time together, Sondra may finally notice him. As soon as Sondra's phone dies, her anxieties rear their ugly head. She can't calm down. Her fears get out of control. She had been relying on social media and TV shows her entire life to deal with her mental and emotional struggles. Without those crutches, she begins to fall apart. Asher realizes that he made a mistake and Sondra is unraveling at the seams being away from civilization. He agrees to take her home. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes Asher and Sondra has to be responsible for herself and him surviving in a cabin in the wilderness with no electricity or indoor plumbing. The only thing she has to distract herself is Asher's Bible. So she begins to read. And read. She slowly begins to rely on God's word to get her through the hardest trial of her life! I always love love stories, but honestly, my absolute favorite part of this book was the extreme amount of growth that Sondra exhibited among the pages! God took her by the hand and formed her into so much more than the existing that she was doing prior to this experience. I absolutely recommend reading this book! I received an advance copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
Thank you, Beth! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! I've said before that I think that one of Jessie's many (writing) superpowers (she can't leap over tall buildings, as far as I know) is the way she can redeem less-than-nice characters from previous stories (another really good one is "The Cowboy's Mistletoe Christmas" from the original Sweet Water Ranch series)!
On “A Cowboy’s Secret Crush”, they talk about sparing the rod. Historically, the scriptures in ancient times were wrapped as scrolls on a rod. I think (& this is my personal opinion) that when the Bible talks about The Rod, it is talking about the scriptures, and parents are to use the teachings in scripture as the way to guide and discipline our children. Yes, spanking has its place, but should be followed by increased love to show them that we did that because we love them and want the lesson to really stick. Corporal punishment should only be used as a last resort, and only with discretion and never in anger! I’ll get off of my soapbox now.
I love the fact that Jessie stories give hope for love, in story Asher loved Sondra with all her flaws and he helped Sondra to see life in a different screen.

Thank you, Yolanda! You nailed it about Jessie's stories - I always feel so hopeful after reading them!
Hey Jay, I love the way you harmonized. Did you do both the highs and the lows, Sondra and Asher’s voices at the same time?
Asher and Sondra have such an absolutely wonderful story. This is just another of the books by Jessie that is narrated so beautifully by Jay. I agree Norma! I love how I learn something with every book of hers I read!
I loved the way Sondra took care of Asher. This is a new favorite of mine. It is a wonderful story!
So glad you liked it Rachael!
This story was very enlightening. Love how Sondra grew in the Lord and how important it is to out her faith and trust in the Lord. Loved the hymns. Jay you out did yourself in the singing. Loved this story. Thank you for this story.
Thank you, Dorothy! Glad you enjoyed the story (and thank you for the kind words about my caterwauling)!
Great story and so much growth! Nothing is impossible for God.
So true! Thank you, Marlinda!

Yet another one of Jessie's superpowers - redeeming less-than-wonderful characters! It reminds me of Angela in the original Sweet Water series!

Poor Sondra, I can feel her nervousness, and fear in the woods. I am a nervous Nelly in the woods too.
Thank you, Marsha! Jessie really writes that part so well, I think!
