Buying a sonata fx thinline guitar was one of the best decisions of my life. I'm shocked by her sound which is just awesome. The appearance of the guitar is unique and gorgeous. Its construction, quality and solidity of the material are at the highest level. The string action is amazing. The instrument is extremely comfortable and well thought out. I've played many guitars and this model is the best I've ever owned. Hartwood did a great job
I've had one for a couple of weeks. Wow...fantastic guitar. Great tone even without the FX. Then when you turn on the FX then the guitar is stunning. The build and finish quality is outstanding. @@antheme_chat Hi Ben, a review's coming just as soon as the replacement arrives! Quite a story! So, the fx system seems to involve routing the preamp output through a small audio amp and 1 or 2 little speakers in a unit attached to the inside back of the guitar. Within a week or so I noticed this unit had come loose and maybe was never well attached anyway as it seemed to involve two quite large sticky pads. So contacted G4M and was in two minds whether to request a replacement or a refund. I chose a replacement. It deserves a 2nd chance. So I hope to be able to keep it of course but I suspect that the problem might be a general design/build problem but I want to give G4M the benefit if the doubt. Didn't know why they went the little speaker route. I would have chosen a surface transducer attached to the top or back. So, watch this space. As with the first one it's coming to me from Germany (I'm in the UK of course). Thanks again for the comment and all the best Rob
@Jake Robertson hi Jake. Nice to hear from you and thanks for the question. Bit of a story! First to answer your question. It came with D'Addariio XP 12-53s. Action really good. Best frets I've seen on a new guitar certainly at this price point.They'd been rounded! Lovely guitar BUT...a week or so after unboxing I noticed something banging around inside. So, the preamp is coupled to what's probably a small audii amp/speaker unit which I think was originally stuck with adhesive tapes to the bottom of the guitar. So, it had just worked loose maybe during transit as I really hadn't played it more that a few times and certainly not treated it badly. Gear4music were helpful: refund/replace? So decided to get a replacement which is on its way from Germany (to the UK). Suggested to G4M that it might be a design or build fault which they say they'll look into. I worry that it could happen again any time so won't be shy to ask for a refund if it looks like a poor build fault. Didn't do a RUclips on the original as wanted to give G4M the benefit of the doubt. Big pity really. For ~ double the price one of the LAG guitars might be a better investment. Anyway let's see. I will do a RUclipsr on it when it arruves and win't be shy to mention the problem with the first one. Oh and I will probably put Martin Monel Retro strings on at 1st change. All the best Rob
I have a lot of guitar and a lot of experience behind me. I've had all the major brands and frankly I have to say that I'm amazed by the perfect guitar. I was a bit skeptical at first, but in the six months that I've owned it, it's one of the guitars I play most often. I also have 2 Lag HyVibe so I know the system of Reverb and ifx integrated, except looper. This guitar has nothing to envy to other models I do not understand that it would not be better known on the market. The bedding is very good, guitar is very beautiful and very pleasant to play. It really is a huge surprise, congratulations to the designers. This model should be more widespread and known.
Great sound but would have loved to have a case with it. Making enquiries it seems it doesn't come with one, for the price I would have thought so, shame

Put in a looper and Bluetooth, that would make it useful at home.
