I went to fisherman wharf I didn’t see this I saw star bucks across the street shirt store I saw boats marina what street was this I was in Jefferson st I saw be Jerry iced cream no ghiradelli
The decor at Ghirardelli Square changes based on the season. Fall is particularly beautiful, with pumpkins and fall foliage placed around the fountain.
I like that you share your trip with us in separate short videos. That way I don't have to sit for a whole hour in front of my screen. Plus people have short attention span and are bound to miss something if the video is too long. Great job 👍.
I should have walked around Ghirardelli Square when I was in San Francisco a few years ago. I was right near there, but I never thought of walking into the square itself. It looks very peaceful there in the evening!
Great tour of an amazing place in San Francisco! I absolutely enjoyed walking around Ghiradelli Square with those bay and Alcatraz views! Will we be seeing more San Francisco videos coming up? Even though I already went there right before you came in April, I watch your videos and I can see how well I did exploring the city or what I could've done better.
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, San Francisco is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on RUclips recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug !!!🙂
Chris, this video is amazing! I enjoyed watching it. 😊 Thank you so much for this, for making this video! I have to watch it again but this time I need to drink some hot chocolate while watching this video.🍫 By the way are you into chocolate? Hot chocolate? Great video, Chris!! 🤗👍👍👍
Thanks Tatjana. I like chocolate. As in hot chocolate. And chocolate covered strawberries, and red velvet cake. But I'm not in to like a triple chocolate cake. There is such a thing as too much chocolate 😀
I never realized how much Ghiradelli Square had to offer. I missed so much of that area when I was in San Francisco in 2019. I really need to get back. Thanks for the great video!
Ghirardelli has SUCH wonderful chocolate! Only been to the San Francisco location once, but have frequented the one at California Adventure SO many times these last two decades (sadly, the Boba tea place used to be a wonderful Italian restaurant way back in 2001 the only previous time I’ve been here…sad to know they’re no longer around…)
I always stop by there when I'm in S.F. Visitors always seem fixated on eating at the original Ghiradelli, when there's another right inside the square serving the same stuff with no wait and less crowds. Walk around the original but get your chocolate fix at another. I never drive when I go to S.F. and use public transportation. It's a compact city. With Ghiradelli it's a walk up a hill from Fisherman's Wharf, but think of that as burning the empty calories you'll be eating.
I have never seen Ghirardelli Square so empty. Based on the lights and sun, it must have been between 6-7pm. I love Ghirardelli Square but I have never been a fan of their chocolate. The amount of chocolate is just so low and the flavor is not there. It's more milk and emulsifiers. I personally prefer See's Candies or Godiva. Thanks for sharing your experience with us - so many new shops now (boba tea😯?)
Hi Chris, they don't give samples any more? Also I remember there was a store for wine tasting, a huge Mac Cormic restaurant with great View, and also an English tea/ English afternoon tea place; are they Closed Or don't exist anymore?!
The Mccormicks is still there. But I didn't see an afternoon tea joint. And for samples. Maybe they just didn't give me one as I looked like I was busy with a camera :)
I live 20 miles from there and haven't been there in...maybe 20 years? Heck I haven't been into the Fisherman's Wharf area in that long. I go there through your videos! 🤣 Maybe I should go visit again soon? Nah, don't want my windows bashed in. I used to go to Crystal City a lot on business too (your last video). Have a funny story to tell...I was a guest at the Ritz Carlton (corporate rate) and was asked to leave the lobby area because I was in Shorts and a T-shirt. 🤣🤣 It was SUMMER!! I am not a Ritz kind of client...
I have been to San Francisco over 8 times and never made it to Ghiredelli Square .Why? Well no one took me there and I'm not a big chocolate fan .I was allergic to it as a child and suffered excema rashes if i ate it .At 10 i outgrew it but i only eat it once in awhile .The hot fudge sundae looks good ,but $14,Wow! My local ice cream shop has a 2 scoop for $8.I have not been back to San Francisco since 2008.I am due for a trip.
Chris do you know that there is no skill involved in getting toys when playing "crane games"? It is pure luck if the mechanical hand will deliver the player a prize as the machines are programed to only allow a certain percentage of "winners" and "drop" all the other toys no matter what the player does. It's basically like playing a slot machine. Also, if you're ever brave enough to return to Oaktown, the best ice-cream sundaes (or ice-cream anything) are at Fenton's Creamery on Piedmont Avenue. Grab yourself some good old fashioned diner food (tuna melt is my fav) and finish off with a HUGE sundae (the Black & Tan would be my recommendation) 🍨 🍨 🍨
Good to know on the crane games. I've never really been in to them because they just seemed impossible. Good to know that's actually true. And thanks for the ice cream tip!

Those sundaes and milkshakes are off the hook.
They sure are Alex!
We live just across the bay from San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf is our favorite place to go when we visit the city .
I went to fisherman wharf I didn’t see this I saw star bucks across the street shirt store I saw boats marina what street was this I was in Jefferson st I saw be Jerry iced cream no ghiradelli

Neat!
Thank you.
Hiii welcome to the bay area! I looove your video as I'm getting ready for our London trip. Great and informative, thanks to you!!

They have a chocolate shop like this in Chicago. The prices are high but it tastes so good.
Thank you for another great and informative video!

Indeed. It's very easy to just pass by
We are in SFC now. Doing a Fire Truck Tour. Going to Ghiradelli after so will have to watch
Awesome Cathy!
Went there with my family last month. A very refreshing milkshake from there is just what I needed after walking there from the pier. 😅
GREAT VIDEO THANKS
Thanks Linda!

Yeah. Definitely much cooler than it used to be I think
You did a great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
As a kid I remember being very excited to visit the Ghiradelli store. Thanks for the tour and walk down memory lane. Excellent work Chris!!

thanks Chris !!! As much as I've come to dislike SF, it certainly has some beautiful spots !!
It sure does Joe!
Cant forget the free chocolate samples. Just walk in and out a few times to get múltiple... saves you a couple of bucks

Going in October. Would you also suggest Musee Mecanique? Is it near Ghirardelli?
The larger Ghirardelli shop/ chocolate experience that was closed when this was filmed has reopened a few months ago.
Nice!

There used to be a Modesto Lanzone Restaurant where the cheese school is

Hah! I'm not a Ritz kind of client either ;)
There is a new park there. The Tunnel Tops Park.

Still plenty of good ice cream without the chocolate 😉
I saw The Jefferson Starship play there Anyone remember what year that was?
isn't there a squre pie guys at the square
Please correct the spelling of the title. One R is missing in Ghirardelli.
Thanks for the correction! Fixed!
In San Francisco everything closes down by 7 or 8 even on weekend at tourist spots. Makes no sense
It's in the Marina area, and docks nearby, but this is not the Fisherman's wharf.

Snort. Exit through the gift shop
