I'm sixty-two. I am regarded by some as being an extremely talented musician. I have recently discovered Johnny Thunders.........it's like being blessed by God. I love the Blues. So did Johnny Thunders! Lovely, lovely. I am currently lying on my couch with my feet up, with my lower legs and feet wrapped by towels, with Johnny Thunder's lead guitar screaming and screeching out from the stage through my Bluetooth speaker inspiring this old man with something new whilst so much seems to be the same. I haven't as yet read about what happened to him, because his music lives on as a statement that is vibrantly alive and so wonderfully beautiful that it is something that can never die! God bless Mr. Thunders.
Just to add.........RUclips, you wonderful people. I had a look at the playlist you have listed under this first video, in this particular case, of Johnny Thunders, and basically all of those videos are miraculously many of my favorites. Thanks!
Great! With me the same, I'm no incredible player but I try and love to play. I bought an electric guitar and a big speaker and I'm learning through practice, RUclips (a bit Link Wray, Dick Dale, blues licks) and learning from certain albums (Thunders, Durrutti Column, Tom Verlaine, VU, Stooges) It's around 11 in the morning, the end o/t summer (whatabummer) still hanging around on my bed with a spliff from last night and some food, looking at this FUN show! -Gr. from Holland ;)
PS: Yeah... there's a LOT of great music being made. I specially love 50s, 60s, 70s (and 80s-underground music) Old Delta/&Chicago Blues, Beat, R&R, Psychedelic, Rock, Folk, Reggae, Experimental, Space, Krautrock, Underground Rock, and Bluesrock. I also love the first local/punk scene in NY, Detroit(Sonics, Stooges, Gories) and first London punk scene. No Wave, Post Punk, Punk oriented bands (70/80s) and much more. But Johnny Thunders is something else, I love that guy to the core. Same as Daevid Allen from Gong and all of his other projects and musical/theatrical/art endeavours. @@leahflower9924 I think it's because he had a certain set of songs that the kids wanted to hear anyway, and for the other band members it wasn't too hard to play too.
