Today, Assam is emerging as a popular location for migratory beekeepers because of its extensive mustard cultivation and relatively lower competition from other beekeepers compared to other regions.
However, the journey isn't without its challenges. From fluctuating nectar sources to unpredictable weather, these beekeepers face hurdles at every turn. Experts suggest a more integrated agricultural system in Assam could further support the growth of the beekeeping industry.
