Toni, I understand.... When I took my first born to college. I didn't cry until I left and got on the highway. It was hard not to cry as I was moving him in. He was getting mad because the staff was thinking I was one of the students.
I was a total mess watching this and I still have 14 years before my baby goes off to college. Job well done Mom and Dad! I pray that you and your family continue have grace, favor, and He continues to place a hedge of protection around you always. You have such a beautiful family and Toopie is so adorable! Much love!

Our children don't realize how hard it is for us to let go after 18 years of taking care of them. The separation anxiety alone is so stressful.

It just shows that we love our kids. They have been a big part of our lives. As Parents, we have done what we are suppose to do. I feel for you! My oldest moved out a little over a year ago and my youngest has three years. Then my husband I are planning on selling the huge house and moving south. My son will be leaving me in about 2 wks to go 10hrs drive time away from me to Baton Rouge. I am happy for him but i am terrified w him being so far away....and down in that area w hurricanes happening like they are etc. He has to make his own way in this world and is becoming a man. For that i am happy and a proud mama. But he will be so far away! I jist hope he keeps in touch as i will miss him terribly.

Just don't be like my mom, she came up to see me every other weekend my first year of college lol. and my school was a 100 miles away. luckily the next summer I bought myself a car and so she didn't have many excuses to come see me as often. I am fortunate that I get to spend so much time with them since I homeschool them, but it will be a bittersweet day when they go to make their own way in the world.

I commuted home every day. My college was only a city and a train ride (and a few km on foot) away from us, so I did that every day for 4 years. :) I live in Belgium though, so it's a totally different culture here. Some students go into dorms and student housing here too.

OMG! That reminded me of my first day going to college and my mom to drop me off.... Trying to hold back all the tears! Toni I know he's going to do a great job in school I applaud you for being an excellent mom!!!

Oh gosh choked up here. Guess us mamas have to let go one day, my oldest is 12 but feel like the years are flying by, im sure I'll cry 3x over when all 3 leave me. Congrats and study hard Isaac! Make your mama even prouder 😀

Omg did i really cry? Im 28 and my son is only 2 but i was imagining that being my son leaving me in 16 years. Cant believe i cried lol. Best wishes to your son so glad to see hes trying to do something with his life
