I worked with a guy from Holland that called me Black Pete, I had no idea till I looked it up and he was terrified that I did..lol. to me it's cool to visit but the people from that area will show you their true colors. Jills first 3 albums hit my soul she’s like part of my childhood. I just turned 24 and went threw a breakup 😭🤦🏾♂️ I played sum jill sheshhhhh she was talking to me I she’d a tear or a couple. But her music even to this day got me threw a breakup.

Although the situation is considerably better in NL as opposed to the one in the US where it comes to racial issues, it seems a case of 'the grass is always greener... Also in NL there is still a lot of (hidden) racism and inequality. The big cities like Amsterdam & Rotterdam are very liberating and progressive, but that ends quickly after the city limits...She is more than welcome over here (obviously) but perhaps take a few months to really 'feel the water' first ;-)

However, as I've gotten older and experienced all of my life in America, I'm more inclined to consider more than our ancestors' experience as something to protect, etc. Just the other day, Republicans 'decided' the George Floyd Bill wasn't worth anymore of their time.
