Amazing time for Cooper Teare and amazing times for basically everyone. I’m so glad both the 5k and 10k weren’t tactical and the distance men really went for it. Kiptoo was strange this meet he basically acted as a pacemaker for the meet.
@@moiseomri have you watched the indoor 5K from this year? It’s just how he runs, sometimes it pays off like it did there, and sometimes it doesn’t like here
Well kiptoo’s normal strategy is to go out fast and lead. So what the flotrack podcast was saying was he kept the same strategy he did go out hard but maybe he was sick because he couldn’t keep the pace for as long as he normally could

Track races are so exciting. The drama and the strategy that unfolds. You don’t know until the last turn who has what left in the tank. The race changes so much. Cole Hocker was in the back of the pack (eating dust) until the last 150 meters. He blew by about 6 guys. Exciting. Love 400 through 5000 distances.
Basically stopping all coverage of the race as soon as the winner crosses the finish line was asinine. We don’t want to see a goddamn zoomed in picture of the winners face while they are still 20 athletes finishing. Just awful video work
The dude must have the highest pain threshold since Steve Prefontaine. I don't know how he did that and got a 13:18 just 100 minutes after running a 3:35 1500m which included 1:48 for the last 800. His lactic acid level must have been incredible. He was in 10th place and 25 meters back of the pack with just 150 meters to go.
@@antoniooso694 love Hocker but I am happier for cooper. Hocker has been crushing it all season of track indoor and outdoor and cooper has been so close to winning many times but would get out kicked by cole or someone else at the finish. He finally got it when it mattered the most

It probably can be attributed to him being west African. That’s how’s they run literally every race. You’ll have guys at little road races with $1000 for the winner go out at WR pace for a marathon. They just run everything balls to the wall and if it goes great or shit hits the fan they do it again next time. Huge respect.
Kiptoo went through that first mile in 13:10 pace. I'm honsestly glad he did that, even though it would have been nice to see him in contention near the end of the race. Collegians usually never run to their full potential in championships because it's all so slow and tactical and no one wants to take the lead.

I could feel the tension between Teare, Kioko and Grijalva, and that just felt so real. It makes you realize that these people aren't just running superstars, but they're also people with basically normal lives. Gives me so much motivation.
Really happy for Hocker and Teare. I don’t know them but they appear to be good kids. They both showed out when the lights were the brightest. I can’t imagine what they’re feeling right now after winning a National title in their respective races.
Not even 2 hours apart.. I feel like not enough credit was given to him for getting 4th.. honestly if he would have been within that pack, it could have been a closer race
they'll both go pro and should have promising careers. I kind of wanted Luis to win but not miffed that Cooper won, they both deserve it and go out with successful collegiate careers.
