You should visit Tripsdrill next year- they do have attractions which are suitable for small children. And they have a wild life park, with big grounds for the animals (something you can of course also visit now)
I remember going to this pumpkin festival when I first moved here 13 years ago and we lived in Stuttgart, it was a lot of fun. Ludwigsburg also has a beautiful Christmas market (Weihnachtsmarkt) with a Baroque theme that usually starts in late November. Other nice Christmas markets in your area are, of course, the main Stuttgart market (which is huge) and also my personal favorite, the Middle Ages (Mittelaltermarkt) Christmas market in Esslingen.
We've been there regularily since we were kids and just visited a few weeks ago crowded with people. I'm grinning all the time watching you explore the exhibition, the palace and of course the fairytale forest. At Rapunzel's castle (Elm's Castle) there are normally kids all around triggering the voice activation by calling for Rapunzel to let her hair down. At the saturday a few weeks ago we saw at least five weddings with brides in their dresses walking along the other visitors. Also, within the palace yard there are concerts each year, I've been there for Sunrise Avenue and Sabaton for example. The atmosphere of a rock/metal concert within a baroque palace yard is amazing.
Hey, dann warst du keine 5 Minuten entfernt von meiner Heimat Freiberg! Toll. Mach weiter so!
The weather reporters said it as well: that it is roughly 10 degrees celcius too warm for our usual October, but I'm certainly not complaining! 😂 Really nice festival and great video!
Yeah the weather is throwing me off! A month ago it snowed in Baden-Württemberg and we were all scraping ice off our windshields. This month…I’ve been sweating while going for walks lol. Thanks for watching!
Every year at the end October we eat "Kürbiscremesuppe" every once in a while (not every day of course) and i like it so much. Btw. i only was once in my life in Ludwigsburg and i didnt even know there is such a large castle there :-)
Hi buddy. Just at the side of the the Pumpkin event of that LB castle,... JUST a jump (air-linie) over the 4 lane street (200meters!!),... is *Schloss Favorite,* which was built from 1717 to 1723 for the sovereign Duke of Württemberg, Eberhard Ludwig, to a design by Donato Giuseppe Frisoni. The *model was the Gartenpalais in Vienna.* The original plan provided for combining the functions of a hunting castle, *surrounded by a vast park and hunting grounds,* and a country villa with a beautiful view. >> There are Deers free living there as much as other german forest animals! Great to take a Walk or even a picknick! >> The *"Schloss Favorite"* is also *a very coloreful one!!* >> It is said,.. the Duke of Württemberg, made the looooong straight path to this "mini" castle, so he (or his "minions" lol) can *spot* if his wife is approaching,... you know what i mean, why a MAN needs to spot his wife... Favorite,..was his "lovers place" to "relax" from daily life ;) *And it is totaly free to enter!!* From 1806, King Frederick I of Württemberg converted the park into a ménagerie, containing wild boar, deer and chamois, and the house was used as a hunting lodge. At much the same time, the architect Nikolaus Friedrich von Thouret renovated the building's interior in the neoclassical style. With the fall of the monarchy in the 20th century, the house was little used, neglected and fell into disrepair. It was restored from 1980 onward, and it opened to the public in 1983. The park has been transformed into a landscape garden, which has since served as an animal park. Today, the originally furnished castle rooms give an insight into courtly life.[1] *Modern Use today:* Starting in 1987, Schloss Favorite has been used for the filming of the *weekly evening talk show "NACHTCAFé" produced by* the television and radio company *SWR.* >> You know,.. one of the State TV/radio you pay GEZ for as well ;) In 2003, a two-part film “Pride and Passion” (German: Das unbezähmbare Herz) was shot here. /////////// Also,.. If you search here in youtube for *Es war einmal vor unserer Zeit* >> _you will find one of the BEST EVER made Comics for kids, solo ment to LEARNING about anything to us Humans!!_ >> This *Es war einmal vor unserer Zeit* epic comic series, was also made by *SWR* and other EU State TV companys!! >> Same goes for: *Sendung mit der Maus* or *Löwenzahn* ---> Those are like the best kids comics EVER made factual and great showcased for kids-eyes to actualy learn & keep stuff showcased! Check them up if you for your boy in my mind ;) As always, great content and keep rolling the tape
Fantastic value day out! Thanks for the great video. Agree, Radler is delicious and refreshing, although for me it has to be made with a citrus soda in the Munchner style rather than with a plain lemonade. Wish we could get it more in the UK and as inexpensively as in Germany!
I live in Benningen which is next to ludwigsburg and I've known this festival for a long time but never actually knew it was the biggest Pumpkin festival in the world, I guess you learn something new everyday lol
If you like these things I would recommend you look up the grimm trail (Deutsche Märchenstraße). You can actually travel the path the brothers grimm went to collect their stories and see the places that inspired them. Like trendelburg which is the original Rapunzel castle. It's a long trail but if you have a few days you can travel a portion of it staying in the towns
Great video! Was at a heavy metal open air concert in the inner courtyard of the Schloss during summer. At 38.5 degrees...But I really love the Ludwigsburg Residenz and I really have to visit the Pumpkin Festival one time.
You are in the Märchenwald/Fairytail forrest! In the most Märchenwäldern the stories are from the Brothers Grimm! FUNFACT: The most old Disney films are made of fairytails of the german Brothers Grimm!!
I live right next to Ludwigsburg but never felt appeal by the hotchpotch of pumkins there ^^ It's funny to me how many people are attracted to it :D I do not know the exact number of rooms in the palace, but I know it's at least a room per every day of the year. The Märchgarten (Fairytale Garden) has been there forever. I loved it as a kid (I'm 55 now), especially the crocodile that says "Papiiiieeer!!!". No clue, if that still exists... ^^
But you have to be precise if you ask for the palace. Because with have 3 palaces here in Ludwigsburg. Schloss Monrepos, Schloss Favorite and Residenz Schloss. The last one is the one from the Video, also known as Blühendes Barock or BlühBa.
I live there and was there last year for the 1st time its amazing you can spend there a whole day if you include the Märchengarten :D Check out Monrepos the next time you come here its very nice there
you gotta try the pumpkin fries they are delicious Edit: commented to fast. Last year they were actual fries like french fry shaped not those chips thingies lol. Were they any good though?

Yes the 3 best in Stuttgart Area
Definitely come back in spring the gardens are beautiful when blooming
Thank you for this clip. I´m a gardener in this park. I´m happy that you had a good time here!

That's not a crocodile, it's a dragon! 😊
It's still there, but I think it's supposed to be a dragon. 🙂
Hey Trey, thank you so much for another inspiring clip. 👍
Thanks for watching!!!
Pumpkin Fries - try make them at home in the oven and eat them with a bit of Balsamico afterwards. Great combination :)
Märchengarten means Fairytale garden
How you managed to handle with the metric system instead of the imperial system?
you should also visit Ludwigsburg Palace and the Garden Palace in Rastatt too
You should visit Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich. It is much bigger.
🤗
We went during our time in Munich!

Märchenpark = Fairy Tale Park
"Märchengarten"="Fairy tale garden"
Oh, ein Märchenwald! And you have to look up Wilhelm Busch's Max und Moritz. He somehow wrote Comics bevor they were Comics.
I live there and was there last year for the 1st time its amazing you can spend there a whole day if you include the Märchengarten :D Check out Monrepos the next time you come here its very nice there
What city do you recommend first for a bachelor?
München for sure!
I wonder how you came to know about this Kürbisfestival.
I live in Stuttgart and we have friends that live in Ludwigsburg!
playgrounds in Germany restricted for Kids 12 and under
why "check out"? Check out = leave a hotel, return keys and pay hotel bill

you gotta try the pumpkin fries they are delicious Edit: commented to fast. Last year they were actual fries like french fry shaped not those chips thingies lol. Were they any good though?
