After Ne4, Bd5 what if black takes on f2? Black gets 2 pawns for the knight and white can’t castle anymore. Not sure if this is better for white. What is your suggestion after Nf2:?
Yeah I think @ 12:23 1..c5 2. dxc5 fixing pawn weaknesses on both sides. 2..Bd7 (attacking the white queen, then unless a new threat is created black has to prioritise getting rid of the knight to avoid the outpost being occupied, c7 is also a backwards pawn that needs protecting. So black must play actively as the white queen is already highly active.
9:00 p-e5 n-e4 b-d5 how about nxf2! forking the queen & rook forcing Kxf2 followed by pxc3 (discovered check) and then if b-e3 then bxe3 kxe3 pxb2 traps the rook. else if the king just moves, pxb2 and for the knight, black wins 3 pawns and white cannot castle and the pawn on e5 is not supported by any pawns. seems playable to me as black.
Great video! For some reason I was expecting the recommendation of the tricky 6.b4 instead of 6. e5. But this video is still helpful, thanks! Happy New Years!
Great video! I used to play the Italian without knowing any theory, and then I switched because I thought it was too passive, I only knew the fried iver, which I would use when I was around the 1200-1300 rating range, I had no Idea it was meant to be aggressive! But can you also make a Opening against the English Defence? I have no idea what to do against that. 😁 💯/💯
Engine says Nxe5 is best move, but white doesn't win a full piece since black can play Qxe5 (take back knight) and if Re1 then he blocks with Ne4. However, Qe7 is a mistake giving white +2.25
IGOR WE LOVE YOU THANK YOU ❤❤❤ I WAS HONESTLY TRYING OUT THE SPANISH but it is just so complex for a sub 2000 so I honestly think I’m gonna first start with the Italian!
Very enjoyable and informative, thank you. Your videos are giving me a lot of new ideas! Just one suggestion if I may... At 7'51" as white I'd play Nxe5 Qxe5? Re1 pins and wins black's Queen
Simply the best lessons, every time. Thank you, wonderful teacher. Comparatively others aren't as concise and don't demonstrate how the position was reached again, so the lessons don't stick. I've got a chess play list and 90% of them are yours.
Thanks very much for your videos. As a 1.e4 current player I've been finding recent videos really useful. I've also bought your boost to 2000 elo bundle and now I have some time to study, I'm finding this great too!
Excellent videos sir. I am a e4 player and I won many games after watching your videos. A small doubt regarding this video, you said after Bxf7+ Kxf7 QxQ winning the queen. What happens if Bxf7+ Ke7? if Bg5 then Nf6
Thanks for all the content, Igor! I am new and learning openings but am having some trouble. How do you recommend following an opening line when opponent does not play the subsequent moves covered in your videos? Should I assume those moves are simply suboptimal and look for ways to exploit or stick to my sequence if the board allows?
When your opponent deviates in a sharp opening it is very likely it is suboptimal and you can punish them. If not, you have to understand the opening you are playing ideas, piece placement and plans. So you can play good moves regardless of your opponents moves.
Not to go against the knoledge of an ACTUAL Grand Master, but this opening has been renamed and is now called the 'Gucci Piano'. I believe it's also copyrighted or trademarked by Gucci in collaboration with Shinsuke Nakamura or some Japanese/American guy, idk, I don't watch that much pro wrestling. Jokes aside tho, this channel is awesome! Keep up the good work!
Seriously u helped us soo much. Yesterday in an online tourney of 1400 players I got #53 even tho when I entered there were 16 mins remaining. It was 1 min tourney. I won 6-8 games and lost 1.
The problem with the position is if bishop takes the knight on D2 then you have to recapture with the queen. Then the other bishop takes on F3 messing up your king side pawn structure. Any suggestions?

The Italian Game has a reputation for being a "noob opening" but it's actually extremely dangerous at all levels.
6:30 The bishop on b4 isn't hanging, it is protected by the Knight on c6
was thinknig that
was thinking that but horse trade for bishop are usually better so i think to him it might as well be hanging
Well not every time you say "hanging" means it's not protected.
"You turn away to pat your dog.... and boom!"
I got a dog specifically so I can pat it between moves.

Thank you for another great video. You are a very talented instructor!
Glad you enjoyed it!
12:37 if he take the knight on f3 first, then he can take our pawn on c5 and save his second bishop easily
Oh! Thanks a lot for these soo Good video from an Italien Opening lover! 😊♟️
Can you make a deep theory video if the pirc defense??

At 7:53, I believe 8. Nxe5 is much stronger than 8. Re1, since it wins a full piece instead of a pawn. What am I missing?
you are missing Ne4
Nxe5 is stronger, you are not missing anything.
@@gollumchess I still win a piece, Ne4 doesn’t prevent it.

@@tobias4411 yeah but if Ne4, simply f3 wins the piece
Great video and very instructive for regular folks. Love from Canada❤

Just trade queens and castle. You will be up a pawn with a better position.

5:00, you push the pawn because, of course, en passant is forced
Pls do a video about the catalan opening:)

You can Igor's course here.

Lol the first line where you get to grab opponent's queen looks unlikely but a succession of bad moves, even by good players, happens every day!
I love all your videos u taught me how to play chess
That's awesome!
Is this the Max lange attack?
Of course if someone watch these traps in this video, they won't fall for the traps.

PGN?
black could have played d6 to protect the knight. Isn't it?
Then cxd4 is a big threat.
