Looks really good man. I like your vids keep them goin! :) I myself have a 91 cb7 and I love it. Im doin work to it slowly and theres not alot of vids out there for these cars so I appreciate the help. Thank you and love your cb its coming out great!
Then again it was a different engine... I actually used that same stuff you did. The paint was so thick took me like all day. I like the chrome look, kept it that way. Good job.
Thanks, Damian! I appreciate that! I definitely will and the swap will happen soon! Just gathering all the right parts needed, and I will do another video for that itself! :)
a girl had my ep3 before me. purple alloys and engine was purple. took weeks to restore and eventually went for gold. alloys and engine and gold air filter. looks great now
I did mine just like you did, just seen this vid now but I painted my b18c1 valve cover gloss white and my letters purple with my bay color, and also painted my wire cover purple, all the purple I applied clear coat with sparkles and it looks awesome, another thing that works really good is heavy duty paint stripper at Walmart, you have to apply with a brush though because its not in a spray can
As you can see, the Rust-O-Leum "Aircraft Paint Remover" can is what I preferred. I tried the brush-on type but that was really harsh on the nose and skin...and I really had protection at that time. I tried both and this one, at least, I didn't have to use a brush.
Love your videos man! I'm stripping a set of J32A2 valve covers and I gotta say, they're really giving me a hard time. I think that Honda started to use a different paint for the J series valve covers. I'm using KleenStrip Aircraft Remover, and it only bubbles up in certain areas. Other areas seem completely resistant to the stuff. The paint is also like 2mm thick. I've tried the aerosol and the faster acting brush on liquid. I've also noticed that with the J covers the casting is a bit more textured, unlike the B/D/H/K series covers. This makes it so that when I go to brush or scrape it off it just stays impregnated in the surface. What a headache! I should be done soon though. Last step for me to do is wire brush. Keep doing what you do brother!
That's actually a great idea! Of course, for that to properly work, you'd need to find very high temp paint with that color. That gray part? That's what it looks like with just the paint removed and unsanded or polished...
Winston Buzon oh yea my bad i meant the grey and green lettering, but the blue would look dope af too! if you had other bolt ons that matched the color of the lettering..
you make it look so easy but you have very good products in my country you cant find aircraft remover and that kind of piant shows its good even when you were spraying it
My cover is old and has no paint on it, but if i was to just spray over the top of it i don't think it will look as good as that, could i use the same technique as you just used?
can you do a video on the rear brakes of a 94 to 96 honda accord ? i bought a car the had no brakes due to the wheel cylinder so i changed them but now i step on the brakes and it pops the new one out again and they told me it cuz theres air in the brake line but i bleed it like 7 time and still nothing. please help me thank you! Winston Buzon
Very informative. Great vid. But instead of masking the letters, and using all that time, when the valve cover is fully coated and clear coated, use a hobby file (theyre smaller) to remove the paint from the VTEC lettering. Saves time. If you want the best of both worlds, mask only the big chunks, but very basic. Then use the file to get the small stuff. Did that with mine and it turned out great
best video ever bruh-bruh !!! thumbs up too for h23 user .. i recently purchase bb6 wit a f20B motor tho ... imma do the exact thing you did , on my old h22a4 valve cover. goal is "domo-kun" face on it .. peace out
I have a 99 civic si B16A2 red top that I'm trying to strip and reprint. I'm ushering the same stripper u did in the video but no matter what I do the paint is not coming off. Can u help.
i accidentally got some of the aircraft remover on my arm once, and got a chemical burn after just a few seconds. It became a huge red spot for a few days
Put vaseline on the letters with a q-tip (ear cleaner) you can just spray paint right over it then when it dries clean the vaseline off. Thats what I did. The tape idea is good but some people might want a faster way
Just putting this out there, the clean up with the tape is wayyyy better. So id use tape..but I personally used vaseline. You just have to lightly scrap the dried paint/vaseline which could be annoying for some. But yea..just another option for any1
You don't have to prime?? What kind of paint did you use?? And for all the coats do you do that same technique as the very first coat?? Just all over the place and spotty?? Thanks!
Cool! Well, I hope my videos can help you along the way! Make sure to SUBSCRIBE because I will also hold a raffle when I reach my 500th SUB! Tell your friends! Or don't that way your chances are better, lol!
Yea I already subscribes... I just need help with rims because Im not sure if 16×8 inch rims will fit or if I have to roll the fender... and for coil over I wanted to go with D2s but they are too expensive... I'm only 17 so I'm going to go with Function Form Type 1
Ah, you're trying to Stance? Honestly, I don't condone Stance because I prefer function over form, but it's your ride, it's your call. However, suspension is something you don't want to cheap out on because your life and the lives of everyone in your car depends on that. If you can Stance without going overboard, then you won't compromise the ride integrity.
@Albert Garcia
Thank you for your support and compliment! I appreciate them very much!
Looks really good man. I like your vids keep them goin! :) I myself have a 91 cb7 and I love it. Im doin work to it slowly and theres not alot of vids out there for these cars so I appreciate the help. Thank you and love your cb its coming out great!

Looks good!

One good thing is that I got the set I'm working on out of a junkyard so I don't have to rush :)
Good job very nice finish
Thank you :)
Nice job man :) i really like it
Thanks!
Great job
Thank you :)
Looks good bro
Thanks!
too clean brosef! when i first saw it, i thought it was blue with neon green/yellow lettering! that would be crazy!
That's actually a great idea! Of course, for that to properly work, you'd need to find very high temp paint with that color. That gray part? That's what it looks like with just the paint removed and unsanded or polished...

you make it look so easy but you have very good products in my country you cant find aircraft remover and that kind of piant shows its good even when you were spraying it
instead of masking the letters, just paint everything and then sand the raised lettering after, youll get a nice finish
nice job
looks good bro
Thanks! :)
What did you use to get the grease and dirt off or did you spray the aircraft paint remover on it before applying the paint
My cover is old and has no paint on it, but if i was to just spray over the top of it i don't think it will look as good as that, could i use the same technique as you just used?
thanks for the video
You're welcome :)
Lmao, yeah! I used to sing along to the row your boat portion with"shoot, shoot, shoot your gun, kill them all right now..." LOL
What kind of paint did you use?
the ice cream truck in the back round :D
Hilarious cause you sprayed plants, but really cool video thank you for sharing!
I like the pressure washer (garden hose) lol
Says wear gloves
(doesn't wear gloves) 😂
He's speaking from experience.....that's why he warn you to put gloves on bro!

You mind putting a parts list in the description?
vtecs kickin in yo

Matthew Kvilvang Would love to see it... :)
What color was that? it seemed like a lighter/torquise blue
Can I add this cover on my 2000 civic ex?

i figured aircraft remover would be the best choice for removal of a shitty paint job hehe... good video, thanks for sharing
Good work!
Thanks!
Winston Buzon did u do a light sand b4 or did u did u go to straight paint lmk thanks
No sanding, straight paint

Nice!
Looks good, would have liked to see the taping process though.
Good idea! I will keep that in mind!
you dont know how to apply tape? lol
Lol @ the aircraft remover haha
I have a 99 civic si B16A2 red top that I'm trying to strip and reprint. I'm ushering the same stripper u did in the video but no matter what I do the paint is not coming off. Can u help.
Spray again with the stripper, but instead, brush or agitate it with a metal brush or leave the stripper on longer...
i accidentally got some of the aircraft remover on my arm once, and got a chemical burn after just a few seconds. It became a huge red spot for a few days

What kind of paint you used?
Looks sick! About to do this to my crv B20. Do you recommend priming it first? Also how long has this coat lasted?
I would definitely use etching primer if I had to do it again. The coat last awhile, but not exactly sure how long
mine came out beautiful, all i did was sand it down with 220, paint, cleared with hardner
Wow, very nice job. That valve cover looked like it came from the factory that way. Where can I find some of that "Aircraft Paint Remover"?
From any local auto parts store or even home depot
What did you use to mask the letters, how did you get it so perfect?
Just 3M green masking tape and a blade or exacto knife
+Lucas Valverde - One day
How exactly did you cut the tape for the lettering? Did you put the tape ontop and then use the knife around the letters?
Used an exacto knife
Nice! I wanna do mine hot pink!!!!
Definitely doable, just make sure its high temp paint
will that remover help clean it? or what should I use to clean it of mine is completely stock and just a dirty color?
Clean without removing the paint?
Was this high heat paint? Glad to see you do things the right way.
There's only one I can think of that anyone has access to and that's VHT
Fernando Vergara - VHT
Which tape you used for the letters? By the way nice work!
Thanks! I used 3M tape and an exacto knife to cut around the letters
Did you have to sand before painting I want to paint my intake manifold on my 99 mustang. Any tips
No, but I made sure there was no oils or anything on the surface before applying the paint
You don't have to prime?? What kind of paint did you use?? And for all the coats do you do that same technique as the very first coat?? Just all over the place and spotty?? Thanks!
No I didn't prome but next time I will use etch primer
Awesome video dude I learns alot
Thanks! I'm glad you did!
Yea I'm actually planning on buying a CB7 in a couple of days I'm really exited

I was thinking about doing mines, do you think it would be coo to add a clear coat? Or will the heat be to much for it?
If the clear coat is designed for high temps like engine paint, then you should be ok
Omfg I thought you were gonna change the color & I waited all that time just to watch you spray that same blue again, nice job tho
Lmao, I am open to suggestions...
HIi winston nice vídeo! What kind of pain you Used?
VHT High Temp Engine Paint
What was the paint you used and what is the knife called??
Krylon Engine Paint and Xacto knife
what did you put in the spark plug holes ? just tape ?
Yup
That's the around about the color I want to paint my valve cover
