I've spent all day listening to youth crew records from the era. I'm finding that 90% of them or more are fast and powerful, but there just aren't any hooks or riffs anywhere. It's all so damn generic. Battery - Until The End LP is a standout, that one's full of awesome hooks. Wide Awake - C.T. Hardcore is balls out amazing. Straight Ahead - Breakaway set the standards. Up Front - Spiriti LP is a great throwback. If anyone can name off some of the more original sounding Youth Crew / Straight Edge LPs I'd be interested.
