Regarding the M16’s Auto Lawks mentioned in the livestream: We have checked our inventory of the new models for quality control and we are coordinating with CRKT to address the issues. Rest assured, the knives shipping from our warehouse will operate as intended.
I REALLY like the mini Homefront and the Padawan. I'd like to see the mini Homefront with a stonewashed blade at some point, but it still looks great. I like that they didn't put an assisted mechanism on it like they did with the full size Homefront with 12c27
I have a Carter designed Jettison with a wharncliff blade. It's my only CRKT but it's a great little knife and is still extremely sharp after several years.
My drifter is the oldest folding knife in my collection. Before i bought it, I just used knives until they broke. My drifters held up to about 10 years of use. It might be time to retire it for this new one.
What happened to the deadbolt lock? Wish CRKT could make a 4-4.5” blade, thats not an auto, that has a deadbolt lock thats figity like a crossbar or button lock. I feel CRKT knives are shrinking each year.
4:55 Whoah ima get tha M16-10DZ next! I will gladly play the 70 Euros for it, because shipping them from the US to Europe makes costs explode a little bit. That's how much I like it!
The safety defects on the M16s is disappointing. A lot of military personnel choose the M16 for their edc in the field and the last thing they need is a tool that does not function as advertised.
We have checked our inventory of the new M16s for quality control and we are coordinating with CRKT to address the issues. Rest assured, the knives shipping from our warehouse will operate as intended.

the claim about climbers loving the bear claw seems dubious to me. climbers wear gloves, and i don't see how anyone is going to get a gloved finger into that hole.
I love your channel and watch every show. BUT... I've never understood the appeal of unboxing videos. Watching someone unwrap anything to get to actually seeing the product is weird to me. So I love the knife analysis, but I'll probably pass on any further unboxing videos. Keep up the (usually) great work!
Have to agree. When reviewers do an unboxing then a first impressions then a review video. I don't have time nor am I interested in watching three vids featuring the same knife. I feel like you could mention it and maybe show it when it comes in but just add the unboxing footage to the beginning of the review... I guess some want to get their vid count up but it can get *_really tedious._* JMO.
The tanto was pretty cool. I think CRKT has some unique designs and some practical ones. They’re also capable of Tomahawks and Machetes and they do have a “CRKT-esque” look to a handful of their designs. They could maybe use to get ahead in the steel race and tighten up QC.
I am absolutely sick and tired of companies like CRKT using HCR steel 4116 steel and Aus8a!!! oh, and let’s not forget the most hated D2! There are so many better deals out there like14c 154cm going for much lower prices prices that don’t exceed $60. Why aren’t they using those steals and getting rid of the others so sick and tired of the cheap they suck.!!!
@@powers1776reset I don’t know if you understand steel and I’m no expert myself but what I do know is D2 is a very tight tolerance heat treating steel. It’s very hard to heat treat because there’s very little gap to to get this steel he treated right it’s like a 10° difference of too hot or too cold so in mass produce knives D2 sucks but if you get a custom-made knife by Bob Dozier, who’s a master he treating D2 D2 is awesome Bob Dozier is the best at D2 hands-down. He gets crazy cutting performance out of his D2, but he doesn’t in very small batches and he’s able to narrow the heat down. Perfect.
Oh yay. A bunch of overpriced cheap tiny flippers🥱. And I absolutely cannot believe that they are still putting that ridiculous “extra lock” on the M16🤦🏼♂️. Nobody wants that, ever!
The last Chinese made knife I bought due to styling was the Ritual. I love the ancestor it is right there in spirit. At this point..if only it was made elsewhere.
I know it's not cool to be old school any more. But I still believe you can't give a real review on any tool unless you use it in a job or carry it for six months. But I love your "opinions" and like the show. If you had a knife you have carried every day for at least 6 months what is it. And crew I should know there names sorry guy
@@davidgarrett5671 no I love the show! I love seeing all the new knives! But what I whole like is to know what the guys really like to use something that they reach for because they know they can count on it. There are tons of review channels most of them have some test Riga Rama they put knives throw. But nothing is as reliable as the honest opinion of someone who you trust.
CRKT used to have great designs. Now they just use cheap materials unapologetically. And for a budget brand they’re the only company that refuses to do reversible clips, even on crossbar locks, Kershaw has flown by them.
It would be awesome if crkt would make a bigger version of the spew. Love the spew but it's a bit small. It think a 4 inch long 1 8th inch whit a little more meat on the handle would do just fine. with something like aus8 on the blade or at least 8cr
And CRKT tanks again. Slow clap 👏..i cant be the only retailer thay has given up trying to move their stuff. Good job on your part though, it must be tough pretending to be excited through an entire unboxing of "more of the same".
The only thing that interests me is the Forebear. Really cool lil' whittler like a budget Oeser. Don't mind the 12c but red/black g10 is meh when it could have a single color g10, ebony or dymalux instead. Maybe then $65 would be more in line. A kc exclusive pakkawood version in 14c with smaller, less modern branding could be a hot ticket. Get on that DCA!😉
I was given an M16 years ago .... And today CRKT re-proves to me that we shouldn't even bother looking at there knives. You can do better with... Any other brand.
I have a suggestion. When you are done with the video, why don't you guys auction or raffle off the unboxed knives so some lucky person can own a knife carefully fondled by DCA. And proceeds going to a favorite charity?
Maybe you can give us your take on the flood of "new" knives since last year. It's crazy in the meantime and brings forth lots of "vanilla" knives and extremely similar designs. When that has happened in the past with other products, it wound up not going well for many brands.
A little bit frustrating that the layout of knives is cut off just out of frame. Would've been better to have pulled the shot back a little bit or maybe shot from a higher angle down. I really would like to see all the knives laid out side-by-side so we can assess the relative shape and size.
Not in my house. I avoid Chinese whenever possible, no matter what the item. Occasionally there isn't a choice, but I have found that with a little effort, finding an alternative is possible.
Not gonna lie, for framelocks I absolutely prefer tip down carry, since the clip covering the framelock makes it feel more comfortable. Tried out tip up on my CRKT M16-03BS and it just didn't work for me. Too bad the 10DZ doesn't have a framelock since you can't switch the pocket clip, but then I am used to tip down on my two Msixteens anyways.
Regarding the M16’s Auto Lawks mentioned in the livestream: We have checked our inventory of the new models for quality control and we are coordinating with CRKT to address the issues. Rest assured, the knives shipping from our warehouse will operate as intended.
Thanks Dave and Seth. You guys do a great job.

The “Ancestor” I like the sleek design and blade shape is fantastic!!
I really like the Ancestor. Great looking blade shape
I'm pleased to see some better steels from CRKT than stuff like 7cr
I have a Carter designed Jettison with a wharncliff blade. It's my only CRKT but it's a great little knife and is still extremely sharp after several years.
FINALLY they upgraded the steel on their budget knives. What a long time in the making.
My drifter is the oldest folding knife in my collection. Before i bought it, I just used knives until they broke. My drifters held up to about 10 years of use. It might be time to retire it for this new one.
"Dangerously loose action" is a solid "I like my knives how I like my lovers" candidate 😄
Just picked up the Civivi prop. With the amber handle. Can’t wait for it to get here!
Question:
Is it true that Sandvik created 14C28N on behest of Kershaw?
And do you have any other examples like that if you can figure it out for us?
CRKT I hope you read these comments.
Which knife is better for self-defense?
Why no reversible pocket clips for left-hand carry?
What happened to the deadbolt lock? Wish CRKT could make a 4-4.5” blade, thats not an auto, that has a deadbolt lock thats figity like a crossbar or button lock. I feel CRKT knives are shrinking each year.

No CRKT Mbombo w/ Damascus blade?
Love the show btw!
33:09 I support Thomas' suggestion to get a soundboard!
I ordered a microtech ludt and still in pre-order and it'd been almost a month
Yeah…that’s what preorder means.
You guys are awesome
This was a cool style video DCA! However, the knives are not very exciting.
Im waiting for a practical, unassisted deadbolt knife with premium steel

Wow! David C. Anderson why didn't you tell EVERONE those M-16's are flawed and unsafe! I know you couldn't sell them!😢

I feel the same. I typically just fast forward until the knife is on screen. Unfortunately, unboxing is a trend that won't be going away anytime soon.

hiya!, that is fantastic -;))
Really underwhelming lineup.
i have to agree
25 years ago this selection would be alright
It's CRKT what do you expect

Completely agree
Oh boy!! I can’t wait to see the new mediocrity!!
Edit: Yup, 22 minutes in and I’m done. No wonder I haven’t bought CRKT in years.

Well, d2 tool Steel is a great steel. But that’s all can say. These knives presented here, are 👎🏼

CRKT is the least interesting brand in my opinion never bought anything from them and I think I never will.
Boring videos

I like this format with Seth and Thomas interacting throughout the presentation.
The last Chinese made knife I bought due to styling was the Ritual. I love the ancestor it is right there in spirit. At this point..if only it was made elsewhere.
$175 for that homefront!? What! 😂
Davids silence was telling...
CKRT dropped everything for 24' all at once? Prices are about $10-15 too high on budget stuff.
That's not everything. They have more coming later.
Thanks guys wonderful presentation.
BTW - Thomas should have the microphone when filming everything else.
rip crkt
I hate to say it but I didn't really see anything that screamed new style. The mini home front looked alright but a smidge over priced.
David, you could sell wipe in the rain toilet paper!😂😂😂😂

I don't think you need that long to come to a conclusion but yeah you have to put them to real world testing👍
If this was a review site that might mean something.

I don't understand why they put the M16 clip tip down. Especially in 2024. I don't think that is very popular.
That slip joint is pretty cool. Not going to replace my impossibly slim Victorinox ALOX, but still cool.
Little disappointed you don't have the new CRKT Automatics that just came out.

These knives are the result of the fumes they've managed to stay in business on. The tank is now COMPLETELY empty. RIP CRKT 🙏.
Just what we need a bunch mode cheap chinese micro flippers and reissued custom immitations…. Not impressed
Oh these heretical designs from CRKT🙃
I have never seen so much junk in one place at one time geez give us a break
I like one video only about Acta Non Verba
The Padawan is real cool
I like the ancestor
And CRKT tanks again. Slow clap 👏..i cant be the only retailer thay has given up trying to move their stuff.
Good job on your part though, it must be tough pretending to be excited through an entire unboxing of "more of the same".
THAT HOMEFRONT DOES HAVE SWAGGER. Plus S35vn.. Ordering for sure...

I find it interesting how we worry about whether our knives are American made but everything else we buy is made in China.
Not in my house. I avoid Chinese whenever possible, no matter what the item. Occasionally there isn't a choice, but I have found that with a little effort, finding an alternative is possible.
Speak for yourself. That is not the case for a lot of us
Just fyi that your description for the new M16 states that the clip is tip up. Both M16 descriptions say that. On your website that is.
Forebear, Bear Claw and Ancestor are cool but I think the Persian is going on my wishlist. Haters can hate on.
would you be willing to do this with other brands, CIVIVI, etc
modern drifter seems to be lots smaller than the one I bought @2004
Great video! More like this please!
That's a pretty good price on that first one you showed.
Hi Seth, Thomas & DCA.!
Does the Drifter have ball bearings?
Good show style. Thanks.
I ordered an Orca 😎
I was hoping for a mini Redemption... Hope it doesn't take as long to appear as the mini Homefront.
Oof, and now that I've watched a bit further I want a mini Ancestor too! C'mon ,CRKT..!
Cool knife
Ok I dig this format
Taking a leaf out of Metal Complex's book haha. I'm all for it, means more relaxing, interesting knife content for us viewers!
Can you compare their fit and finish to a similar budget brand?
Buck
Not gonna lie, for framelocks I absolutely prefer tip down carry, since the clip covering the framelock makes it feel more comfortable.
Tried out tip up on my CRKT M16-03BS and it just didn't work for me.
Too bad the 10DZ doesn't have a framelock since you can't switch the pocket clip, but then I am used to tip down on my two Msixteens anyways.
Easy pass
Not one knife worth looking at again
21:34 That's a nice drop point!
Whoah whoah omg how did I miss this? Gonna enjoy it now though!
