19:30 I feel like Dopai gets a pass being a Raze main due to the satchels needing to be aimed lower. This is why it's so prevalent during the bunny hops.
Hey Woohoojin! Commenting for the algorithm! I'm a gold 1 player that climbed from Iron 2, but thanks to your videos and tips I've been developing playbooks and strategies using ValoPlant based on the strengths and weaknesses I've identified while analyzing vods for my friend's Premier league team. The average rank of their team is Diamond 3, but using even basic notes from your vod reviews I've had some success with them testing the playbooks in scrims we organize with other teams in a similar elo. Thank you for putting out consistent, high quality educational content for viewers to learn from and improve their gaming experience. You are a font of knowledge that the Valorant community as a whole is benefitting from. Keep up the excellent work Mr.Banana, you are very appreciated.
I think the reason is confidence. Even in real life I looked at the ground for a long time until I started gaining confidence. Now I look at everything at eye height - even in Valorant - might just be me tho
They might aim too low instead of high because in other games it's more consistent to target the body. Like in the old Call Of Duty games and such you aim for the body more. That's why I used to aim purely for the body before being told the importance of crosshair placement.
I mean there are many head only angles in the old cod games and some weapons can only one hit in the head it’s still overall beneficial to aim at head level
As an addition to the FOV argument made by spankmymoomoo - great name btw - another reason I find some people tend to aim crotch height or lower is that they have lots of experience with games having fast but not instant ttks where sliding is a prominent aspect of movement. Destiny is one such example. If you're holding an angle head level while ads and someone slides out to peek you chances are pretty high you're dead because your gun covers them sliding out giving them free time to shoot at you. Not to mention the atrocious levels of bullet magnetism present in the game that often grant headshots for chest level shots which lowers the accuracy and shortens the distance needed to travel aiming back up for a headshot. What's a good practice in some fps games is not good practice in others and those inexperienced with tac fps games but experienced in some others will bring those habits with them. Unless they're consciously aware of and constantly trying to change these habits you get lots of players with poor crosshair placement for valorant and tac fps games specifically. I'm currently working on this myself. Another thing I catch myself doing sometimes is relaxing my arm/hand during rounds which ends up drawing the mouse back a little. Every time this happens without a correction leads to my crosshair falling closer and closer to the floor.
It can be argued that aiming on the high side is scientifically better. When we push a body on a horizontal plane, then the vertical component of the force will act vertically downward and will increase the weight of the object leading to an increase in friction. The more friction that occurs the more difficult to move the object as friction acts in the opposite direction of force. On the other hand if we pull an object, then the vertical component acts in the upward direction, reducing the force of friction. Hence, it is easier to pull than to push a body. Adjusting your aim in a downward fashion acts as a pulling motion, and therefore, aiming on the high side is scientifically easier than adjusting your aim upwards, which is a pushing motion.
6:30 - while i agree with woohoo, one thing that should be taken into account just cause cyphers vision cone says there is no one there doesnt mean there is no one there. Riot have still yet to fix the bug with vision cones, so it will still look like a player can see something when their vision is blocked. Until this is confirmed fixed by Riot, using vision cones to confirm nothing is there (while the right thing to do) adds a bit of uncertainty currently. Tbf in this instance with cypher being pocket outside garden its likely correct, but if he were say elbow, the bug would be detrimental. Im not trying to say woohoo advice is wrong just speaking from something that has been impacting me and my teammates in ranked recently.
For me I look down for 2 reasons with knife out. 1. I played csgo bhop maps and it's easier to see where to jump looking slightly down on most maps. 2. I'm bad at the game but I try 😭
One thing I noticed back in my CoD days in 2009 is that people would always have their crosshairs at the ground. I finally asked, and everyone would say it let them see easier since the gun is out of the way. It wasn't till I stopped playing CoD and went to CSGO that I stopped seeing it, only just realized it after seeing the intro clip. I wonder how many people have bad crosshair placement because of casual FPS games.
@@griffin1182 they have bad crosshair placement because they have bad crosshair placement not because of cod that’s like saying because they have bad utility because they’re a cs player

keeping crosshair level requires a good table chair set up. i had difficulty moving my mouse horizontally in a smooth way and it always sorta arced. look up desk ergonomics and change the level of your chair/table accordingly.
One thing me helped for better crosshair placement was using headshot weapons like guardian and sheriff in deathmatch and every body shot kill I did, I personally didnt count them and after a bit of time it got consostantly better (But since I am only silver its still not always up lmao)
I just started playing kbm not even a month in came from wz I’m used to centering form of crosshair placement for where enemies gonna be nd not there head once I get used Val crosshair placement
That's fair... I've been thinking that we do that because we look down when we walk so we stare at the floor bc we don't wanna trip. I'm not good (iron bronze) but thoughts?
I had the same problem until i watched the video where you'd play the beeeep noise while watching a live game from a viewer....I am much better now in comparision
One of my favorite ways to keep crosshair on head height (especially with elevation differences) is to memorize nearby patterns on the walls to lineup my crosshair with. It might just come from me being an artist, but it helps me a lot more then just trying to mentally gauge it on elevation differences
I know this is a stupid question and all, but is there any indicators for head level? Personally I keep either aiming too high and having to swing my hand down and hitting the body, or aiming too low and hitting the body anyways... I'm plat btw
im peak silver but currently bronze I actually built this habit of making sure my crosshair isn't in the wall when im not pre-aiming but I still lose the fight because im terrible at this game honestly sometimes I just feel like giving up.
Hey! Just keep practicing consistency and gun hygiene. I found that swapping to weapons that require accuracy over spraying helped me climb from bronze into silver. Once my aim was consistent with these weapons I moved back to using weapons that allowed for more spraying and practiced with those. Woohoojin will advise something different here- but what I found that worked to bring me to gold 1 was to tap at least twice aiming solely at the head of the enemy, and if I survived past that, moving to spraying center mass. As your aim improves you'll find yourself hitting those shots that you initially fire at the head much more frequently. Give it a shot in team deathmatch using the ghost, then the sheriff, then the guardian and finally the vandal.
I get hooj's point about always aiming for the head BUT what if you body shot someone? Aren't you supposed to immediately shoot more body shots after because their movement is slowed? This messed with the gun hygiene video in my head.
