Yeah but in wrestling the titles don't mean as much to me because it's a work what matters is how good you were as a worker and entertainer and Savage work aged better than Hogan's.
He had the look, the wrestling skills and could deliver promos. He was willing to put other wrestlers over. Could play baby face and heel both brilliantly. Not many could tick all these boxes. Randy Macho Man Savage was the greatest of all time.
Same here. Macho-Man won the world title. Demolition won the tag titles and Warrior crushed Hercules! For sentimental and nostalgia factor, it will forever be my favorite wrestling event. Can't believe wrestling critics largely panned it.
@deathflower I always felt like Vince held Randy Savage back quite a bit! Especially in the early 90s, he wasn't in the Survivor series except for the little interview he had. And they didn't let him enter the Royal Rumble! He could have ran circles around those guys rather than having Rick Martel get the record that year.
@deathflower Pity the Savage/Crush feud ended there, but as you said he was a great entertainer and performer and always stole the show on the big stage
I always Loved Macho Man in the ring and on the mic. Hogan could never let Macho Man have the spotlight all to himself whether it was in the WWF or WCW. MACHO MADNESS FOREVER! OH YEAH! DIG IT!
My favorite wrestler growing up. Great in ring performer! Macho Man vs Ricky Steamboat one of my favorite feuds in WWF... R.I.P. Macho Madness! OOOOOOOOHHHHH YEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!
Fun fact: Macho Man was a minor league baseball player. He actually severely injured his throwing arm at one point. He learned to throw with his other arm, to stick around for a few more years.
Randy was on a St. Louis Cardinals radio broadcast and talked about his baseball career. He led the league in hitting once during his minor league career.
I was always impressed by how JACKED Randy got from late 1998 to mid 2000. His entire body (arms, neck, pecs, delts, lats, etc) were never that big (mass), defined (cut) and striated (veins) in his entire career and what's most impressive is that he was in his mid-late 40's at that time.
Macho Man Randy Savage was and always will be my favorite wrestler of all times. He put on a barn burner with Ricky the Dragon Steamboat at WrestleMania 3. That match in my opinion was the greatest InterContinental match of all times. WrestleMania 4 when he won the tournament was absolutely breathtaking.
@@lawrencedavis2779 actually it was the 1987 King of the Ring that Randy Savage won! It was absolutely amazing watching him wrestle all those matches. The 1985 King of the Ring Was Won by Don Morocco. Harley Race won the 1986 King of the Ring!
@@lawrencedavis2779 so the tournament that you're thinking of is the wrestling classic in 1985, it was Junkyard Dog against Randy Savage in the finals! And junkyard dog won by count-out. Macho man totally rocked in that tournament. He faced Steamboat in the Quarter Finals 👍
And wwe didn't even out it on the rivalry DVD set of Network series. (They covered feuds from a bunch of promotions so it wasn't due to it being wcw) ddp vs Savage was the best head to head feud in 97 and it was probably the best rivalry between an NWO member and a wcw guy. Sting was the "leader" of wcw...but DDP carried wcw while sting wasn't wrestling
I still find it ironic how Vince didn’t think Savage could still go as a performer and wanted him to be behind a desk, and yet he went on to put on probably one of the best performances in the later part of his career
I didn't even watch the video before clicking "like". First of all, it's Macho Man! And secondly, because it's one of the greatest wrestling RUclipsrs out there!
@deathflower Macho King Randy Savage vs Ultimate Warrior WrestleMania 7 should have been for the belt. I couldn't stand the fact that they put the belt on Sergeant Slaughter. He was an average mid card at best. And his match against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 7 was rather terrible.
@deathflower Also on a side note. Hogan and Earthquake never had a proper feud blow off. I thought for sure wrestlemania 7 would have been the time for this. However Earthquake gets demoted and faces Greg Valentine 😂🤣👎
I guess i could write a small book about how much i enjoyed watching Macho back at the time. But since i'm not here to bore everybody to death with my ramblings, i'll gonna let it be and just say: "Rest in Peace Randy, you've always been my favorite... Ohhhh Yeah!!!!"
Randy came to my 3 rd birthday party I have pictures of him in his belt carrying me , he was such a sweet and gentle person , I would’ve never known he had a crazy side to him he was such a gentle soul , he was nice and caring and to see videos of randy calling out hogan and triple H , I was like no waaaay !! I never thought he could be that type of person , but I guess never judge a book by its cover !!
Shocking that he had such short WCW title runs. He deserved much better than to win the title on PPV only to drop it to Hogan the next night on nitro...twice 🤬
I remember the day macho man passed away.. I got a text from a friend. cop saw me use my phone.. gave me a ticket. while I was in mourning!!!! can't make it up
I don't know how anyone could forget or not recall a Macho Man vs Ric Flair match. I remember the Super Brawl VI as I was at that event in Tampa Florida to celebrate my birthday.
I think Randy in WCW was a good move for him, cause the new generation era and him didn't mash together. plus the fact that you need new young talent in the game.
Should have been a 1 minute video! First 30 seconds overshadowed by the Hulkster second 30 seconds got juiced-up and had some street girls..lol JK Top Notch Presentation man! You deliver some of the best in this business
Macho man could have had some great matches with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon. Instead McMahon decided to put Savage on commentary. What was McMahon thinking.
Macho Man Randy Savage offered to put over Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels in the early 90s when they were moving up the card and Vince decided they're good! Macho did have a couple good matches with Shawn Michaels over in the UK!
@@MarkPiggy79 That would have been some epic matches similar to Hogan VS The Rock, Shawn Michaels VS Ric Flair. Thanks for the info, I'll definitely watch Michaels VS Savage in the UK
@@wilfredoesqueda it's really awesome dude! Spoiler alert Sherry is managing Shawn Michaels at the time as the sexy boy gimmick and macho man is back with Elizabeth in his corner! I actually have that on DVD on my best of Randy Savage the Macho Man series. It was a five-star match! These two guys should have had her run together.
Savage left because Vince wanted him to stay as a commentator and not wrestle anymore. He thought savage was too old and he was going to start using the younger guys. Savage said it in an interview
Watching this video, I kind of feel like Roddy Piper should've gotten the same respect of a multiple video career breakdown but I'm still greatful for the bios
The Savage/Steph rumors got debunked by some members of the Wrestling Observer forums a few years back. The whole thing originated in a random post on the Death Valley Driver message board in a 2004 thread about the “scummiest wrestling urban legends.” The post seemed to be inspired by some recent heat that had cropped up after Triple H referred to Savage and Hulk Hogan as “dinosaurs” in an interview. Savage responded in a video on his website where he said he’d “bitch-slap” Trips and “steal your wife,” and apparently prior to that Savage was considering a return to WWE given the right circumstances. The original DVD post had no citations, plus it claimed Steph was only 14 in 1994 (she was born in September 1976 and would’ve turned 18 that year) and every wrestler in WWF during the mid ‘90s (including Trips’ friends like Sean Waltman) that have commented on the rumor has said they never heard anything about it until well into the ‘00s after it had spread beyond the internet forums.

The greatest wrestler to constantly get buried in favor of much lesser talent.
Yeah but in wrestling the titles don't mean as much to me because it's a work what matters is how good you were as a worker and entertainer and Savage work aged better than Hogan's.
