    Sterling by Music Man make great guitars for an excellent price. The 1 issue I have w MM is the frets. They are usually a medium sized fret to a medium jumbo. I think the medium jumbo actually feels like a medium. If you like big frets look elsewhere. I found one eventually used that felt like a real medium jumbo and bought it. Couldn’t be happier with the guitar. It’s basically an easier playing strat with the smooth neck and the carved neck heel. The pups are good too and don’t need replacing. So if you’re good with medium frets I would highly recommend.

    Very Cool, Thankyou Steve. Stunning looking and Sounding Guitar and playing as always. Love that color scheme, reminds me of car 'primer'. Bought an entry level Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 guitar years ago. WOW this guitar soon became my favorite Strat-style guitar. The 'asymmetrical' Neck is still the most comfortable guitar neck/fretboard I have ever played. Awesome Guitar. All the Best. Cheers

    So leaving one more, because you got to the point in the video at around 16:30 talking about price...if you consider it's USA made counterpart, a new HSS Cutlass ...I found a new bare bones one...powder blue, tortoise pick guard, dots, not blocks for inlays...no boost...2599...it does have the newer MM trem...now yes, a USA made MM with stainless frets, and MM USA attention to detail is going to be a better guitar, but IMO, I would be a happy camper to have that import model as a backup when playing live, as long as it was set up decent and didn't have tuning issues when using the trem when a song called for it...and might even prefer it on a lot of songs we do in the cover band I'm in with that boost feature...just saying...and I have "a real deal" MM Silhouette...

    Have one in chalk white w/ maple board. It’s an excellent instrument. The boost adds some extra sizzle to some great sounding pups. One of my favs to play regularly.

      Likewise. I've picked them up at guitar stores from time to time, and they're always really nice. I'm just not sure if I have a gap in my guitar rack that needs filling just yet.

    I have a Sterling Stingray bass that was 200 bucks and it sounds killer. The neck goes out a lot but that happens with all of my basses

    Sterling by mm are great guitars, I had an earlier model axis with the down only trem with locking nuts and it was awesome. I really wish I didn't get rid of that one. There hard to find now.

    Got a regular one in firemist silver and it's all hopped up. Then I found a matching Stingray Ray34 bass in the same bitch'n color. Had both for awhile now, and they hit way above their paygrade.

    If that is the same trem they use on the other 'budget' versions of guitars like the St. Vincent? It is fantastic...maybe the most comfortable and stable Strat-trem on the budget market.

    • @SFBGuitar
      @SFBGuitar  4 месяца назад +2

      I'm not sure on the chambering, but I doubt it. It's a poplar body and it had a some weight to it. No neck dive at all.

    With all of the over processed stuff you use, every guitar sounds the same. Put it through tube amp, no effects no blah blah blah so we can hear what the guitar sounds like itself.

    • @SFBGuitar
      @SFBGuitar  4 месяца назад +18

      Never gonna happen. I never record live amps and I always use reverb and delay. Even if I did plug into an amp, I'd still run it though a stereo reverb and delay. So if you need a dry amp to hear the tone, find another channel. And your opinion is in the extreme minority, the overwhelming majority of comments ask how I get this amazing killer tone. And guitars don't sound all that different from each other, anyway. There are humbuckers, single coils and P90s. Everything else is colors and shapes, which just shows how much people hear with their eyes.

      I always assumed the guitars sound similar because ( and they sound awesome) Steve sounds like Steve...playing EVH rig , he'd sound like Steve , and that's OK.

    • @Hubblereach0
      @Hubblereach0 4 месяца назад +1

      I wouldn't be opposed to hearing it through a tube amp, but steve doesn't do that and it sounds great even if they do sound similar

    • @garycastronova7939
      @garycastronova7939 4 месяца назад +2

      I suggest going to another channel and a musician who knows how to run a rig dry. This guy' likes to hide behind a wall of effects like a lot of players do. Hides the sloppy playing. I used to do that too. More gain more distortion.
