What I love about this song is that you can easily see a MAP of Maria and Shadow singing this almost to each other as Shadow goes through with his revenge plot. Lines like "C’mon, wake up now and get back up on your path...With each time you hold your own...You’ll remember what’s inside of you...(Yeah)...Don’t ever throw it all away" It feels like this is something she would say to try and snap him out of his grief and rage.
I hope this song is in the credits of Sonic 3, please paramount, respect the rock in holl culture of Sonic Adventure 2!

I will say, this is VERY different from other songs you have produced over the years.
First, this is HARD metal, with an almost....how do I describe this...an overwhelming oppressive feeling.
It's like the singer is describing the weight of terrible pasts and a weight they carry, teetering on the edge.
The guitar is also really heavy, helping that feeling.
The visuals are also very different, not actual showing our edigy boi at any point, but you can tell the song is about him.
The performances though are super good!
Johnny is of course fantastic, but over 20 years in the industry makes that very clear.
But the guitarist also did an amazing job as well, along with you making the mix itself an excellent listen.
Overall, a fantastic job, and I cannot wait to see what's next.
P.S. Don't think I missed that reference to "Throw it All Away".

I was at Sonic Expo and like others I also saw the song premiere, it's incredible that in 2023 we had a brand new Crush 40 song! 😍 I've been a die hard Sonic fan since I was 6, and even more so Shadow! This song is so catchy and shows a bit of a darker side in everyone
Suddenly imagining this as the music for the final battle of a potential fanfic I've an idea for.
Super Sonic 2(this time forged either through Silver's help or the Jeweled Septer) Vs. The Flames of Disaster: Shadow Blaze(Burning Blaze possessed by Silhouette, her equivalent of Mephiles), whose flames are orange and actually darken the area around them(referencing Black Holes)
Meanwhile, within Blaze's mind:
Burning Blaze Vs. All-consuming Silhouette(imagine a boss fight but instead of a mobile target the boss is the arena itself)
Oh, before I forget; scenarios for the fic, inspired by Webcomic Aurora.
Blaze is alerted from Marine that something is wrong. Sonic and Silver offer to help, which she reluctantly accepts.
Location: Solar Empire Imperial Capital
Blaze: I take it these blue flames belong to you?
Silhouette: Oh yes, but don't worry, I don't hold a grudge. I can always make more.
Blaze: ...Right. I don't suppose you have a VERY good explanation for terrorizing my people?
Silhouette: Oh, I do, actually. This was NEVER about them. Simply put, I burned your home to draw you out.
Another scene, the trio are sleeping, and Silhouette contacts Blaze in her mind.
Blaze sees Sonic, Silver, and Marine in her mind's eye.
Silhouette: Time and again they walk into the jaws of death for you...
Blaze: They knew it was dangerous. I didn't ask them to make any sacrifices for me.
Silhouette: But they will, gladly. That's what "friends" do. You should be grateful. After all, it's not everyday you get a Tool with its own initiative.
Blaze: That- that's not my fault nor my responsibility. Stopping you is more important.
Silhouette: But of course, I am a threat to your world, and a very convenient excuse. You have always let friends sacrifice themselves for your own benefit, so long as YOU never "ask" them, or have you forgotten-
Blaze: I WAS A CHILD, POWERLESS!
Silhouette: And now?
Blaze: ... You're trying to distract me.
Silhouette: In a dream? What else have you to do? I'm not even really here.

Heya! Just wanna clear up a quick bias, here:
I can’t really confirm or deny anything, as I technically don’t know in the end, but what I do know is that my position in the industry and collaboration with Johnny has no final bearing on Crush 40’s potential involvement with the movie. I do know the extent of music publishing and sync licensing and all that, despite being seen as a “RUclipsr” by the general populous.
My first Sonic Movie song “Ready Set Go” has Kevin Bose performing on bass guitar. Two weeks after “Ready Set Go” released, Kevin had announced that one of the songs he wrote for another band had been used for the movie. “Bad News” by Ghosthounds. :)
Johnny and I (and the rest of the music staff) are professionals - and I spoke to Johnny extensively about making sure he knew what he was singing for. Please try not to make hurtful assumptions like that, because it’s discrediting to us other artists. We ALL hope for Crush 40 in the third movie. 💙

Little bit of a different case, there. That was a case about fair use for content used in the universe of Star Trek, after the movie’s release. This song makes no direct mention of anything pertaining to the plot of the movie, as it’s not even released, yet. This is purely an assumed guess of the movie’s themes.
Besides an edited Shadow the Hedgehog still being in the thumbnail, this song and video is 100% original audio and footage. :)
