I think the mommy and daddy thing is a southern thing at least for girls in the southern US. While I wasn’t raised in the south for my entire life thanks to my dad being in the army, I called my mom, mommy till I became a parent my self. Daddy was daddy till he passed. My husband told me that he was a mama’s boy from the beginning, unfortunately his mom had passed from cancer before I met him, I think in his case as an only son and his mom having cancer from the time he was 10 may have contributed to him being a mamas boy and I can’t really fault him for that.
