Wow. The level of quality and professionalism of this show is astounding! I don't do quite this level of realism, but these artists nailed it! And these are just the ones who got into the show!

Thank you so much, Laurie Goldstein-Warren and Michael Holter for a very enjoyable Gallery Talk! I loved listening to your insights on some of the magnificent paintings in this exhibit!! It's always so enlightening to hear the judges point of view and their reasons for giving recognition to certain paintings! 😍

A little too much photo realism for my taste but every piece is a technical marvel. A beautiful show to be sure.

Some very talented artists you have here, but for me there is too much photo realism, even though I know how hard it is to achieve this with watercolor. Art and creativity comes from one's heart and imagination which is what makes it unique.

a few interesting paintings, mostly not. and too much of a trend to try to look like a photo. probably says something about the makeup of the society more than the state of watercolor, or whatever.

Bold, loose expressive painting seems to no longer be valued. Using a projector to give hyper- accurate drawings followed by filling in the colors ala paint by numbers seems to please the jurors these days.

Difficult to see the quality of the paintings, or of their judging, when the paintings are only shown by a glance of a camera in dim light. Not sure why the shots were composed this way but will have to go elsewhere for what one comes to see here .

You do know, don't you, that you can pause the video on an image and enlarge/reduce the image to study it? Of course that is limited by the quality of the original video, but I've found it very useful when studying details & techniques revealed in paintings.

Is this just a competition in who has more patience to make an ultra-realistic painting? Totally misses the point of watercolor. Boring!
