FYI: G1 Starscream humanized design with the 'bunny ears' was a VERY big trend back in 2009-2012, yes it is for aesthetic purpose only but it's a big thing within that side of the community.
Yes you would assume Screamer to be VERY pale as a human, given the seeker's general "skintone" of white or pale grey when they aren't a metallic silver. Still, apparently tanned skin in anime tropes means someone who is "outdoors-y" or "energetic" so maybe they were going for that angle?
I mean, if you look at the G1 cartoon, all the seekers had silver faces Except Starscream who had a dark grey (which you can see in the intro of this video itself). Starscream was always darker than the rest of them
