I remember tuning this organ a few times back in the day. One interesting quirk of this church building is all of the hidden moulding and trim that are up in the mezzanine level, hidden behind the plain white arched ceiling of the chancel. I thought it was a shame to have covered that up at some point. It would be nice to see that part of the sanctuary restored to the original look.

You have made a Reuter fan out of me when it comes to REAL winded pipe organs! I'd love to play this one,and the Opus 8 at that Methodist church!

Oh, to have on the *Great* a *2' Octave* and a *3-rank Mixture,* plus an *8' Oboe on the Swell* -- extended to a *16' Bassoon in the Pedal.* And, while I'm being greedy, a *Swell 2-rank Sesquialtera.* It would then be near perfection. 😀
Thanks for your always enjoyable videos! 👍👍👍

Those are all things we expect modern organs to have, but the only one of those stops you could realistically find on a small organ of the time would be the Oboe. Maybe the 2' principal.

Very similar to the Brindly-Foster organ that I am presently playing. Very nice voicing. Thanks.

"Jesu,Joy Of Man's Desiring" is my favorite J.S. Bach piece! Wish I could play it,but my skill level is not at that point yet!

my Episcopal church got a Reuter Organ about 1979, our Rector was pricing Rogers and Allen organs and felt we could get a smaller Pipe organ for about that price ( which was about 20K then) He picked the Reuter organ and they made it to what he wanted it to be, it was a very bright baroque organ about 8 ranks and in our smaller church then, it could blast you out. By the way our then Rector told me he got this Reuter for less money in 1979 than the electronic organ. Our Church moved to a much larger building and needed to expand this organ, and and so its now a hybrid with Allen organ. I can still hear the Reuter in there on Sundays. Our Reuter was was quite a bit brighter than this old Reuter

Hi Brent, absolutely love the stuff you're doing here on youtube, looking at different organs. Reuter opus 2, wow, very cool. It's a very interesting little organ, that's for sure. I'm in Canada here, and back a couple years ago now, in November 2016, I'd tried what I think is the second of their instruments to be installed in Canada. I'm not far from Toronto, and it is installed in a church about 20 to 30 minutes from here. The audio quality you get on these videos is really really good. Have you considered sampling some of these instruments, for use with VPO software like Hauptwerk? Take care.

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you like our videos. It would be interesting to sample some of these old organs, but the it takes a lot of effort to both sample an entire set of pipes, much less a whole organ (even a small one) and then to prepare the audio files for use. Perhaps if another person or organization wanted to take that on, we could help out with equipment, but for now I think that's both out of our wheelhouse and our funding level.

I would take it that this is not tubular any longer after the chamber photos. I thought it was original.
