This is one of the best night/day examples of surface bringing a ball to life that I've ever seen. I never would've expected the ball from the first half of the video to ever get back from those last 5 shots.
JR, I love seeing you change the surface of this ball. TruCut and CtD are the bomb! Like you, I don't change surfaces nearly as much as I should. I've started making adjustments between events but I have yet to change surfaces at the events. I am planning on taking my TruCut pads to nationals and using them to adjust surfaces between events. Fantastic video!
Regardless of what everyone else is saying, 2000 grit was the correct move. Thanks for the review and tip. My was too clean as well, changed the surface, ball is a beast.
JR - I absolutely love your reviews and instructional videos! You do a great job of explaining exactly what you are doing in your ball reviews. Your instructional videos are second to none - keep up the great work and thank you for taking the time to do all these videos! They have helped me in so many ways!
Seen many of your videos and this one might be the best. Well done sir. Thank you so much for the demo on what surface changes do and how important it is.
Just bought this ball and also notice it goes a little long after the tournament I said I have to sand mine to either 3000 or 2000....great video will also sand mine to 2000 for league
I like seeing this. I owned a Primal Rage for years that I used and pretty much hated the whole time. I could not go left of 15 board at the arrows and get it back at all. Seeing this kinda do the same thing was validating that I was not crazy. I ended up throwing it in a lake...lol.
I just picked up the Primal Shock and will throw it Wednesday. What ball do you suggest to pair with it? I was thinking Venom Shock, but they are so close. Ty
Now 44ft seems long for a ths think ours is only 42ft so i think 4000 should work well for me. Most I'd go is 3000. That 2ft less i think will give me that shape out of box. Plus I'll be using a stronger layout. Great review tho. Shows just how dam good that cover reacts to surface changes.
@@MotivGuy94 yeah, I’m gonna talk to our proprietor and see if he’ll put out something a little longer for some of us to try out. Unless you can throw 19-20mph there no playing outside. So it becomes a mess.
@@danielfettes2954 yeah that makes sense, i feel like 40-41ft is a good area to be around for a house shot. Think I've even bowled on a 39 before and liked it
Cool video on changing ball surface, but he never got around to telling us what he thought of the ball. It went from Primal Shock review to surface adjustment tutorial.
so why is there a rule preventing you from changing the surface every shot (or, even just using cleaner)? if you were super rich, you can lineup 50 same balls, with a butler to bring you a fresh surface every shot. If money can buy you a way around a rule, why is this rule necessary?
Have all the pads and scotchbrite just wish we could change surface when it matters in stead of changing balls that rule has always bothered me it's a big part of the game and most don't want to do it 😉
There would be bowlers changing surface every frame if it was allowed. Would slow down the pace of the game, not to mention the potential mess if the dust were to get on the tables and floor. Change surface during practice/warm-ups all you want, but then live with your choice for that session.
I agree lt would not work today it's just always bothered me just the freedom to clean during with covid got ugly with some keep up work people don't want to change some times ctd is in the right direction 😉
So I normally dont comment on these and just enjoy the review but that wasn't a ball review lol. Just a video on what changing the surface of a ball does.
Omg…if I was Motiv, I would be PISSED at you right now. This was a BALL review, not a sleezy CTD promo! You were all about ball surface & Tru cut pads more than reviewing the BALL!!

The more reviews I see of this ball the more it looks like the Forge Flare (witch makes me happy) I was bummed when Motiv discontinued the Flare
Agreed about the flare, just picked up a single drill a few weeks ago. By the looks of the primal shock I may have to set the flare back on the shelf
Thank you sir!!!! I have mine on pre order and was needing your review to know if I would like this ball or not. You never disappoint
Came to see a ball review on the Primal Shock. Nothing was said about the ball. Just got a promo for CTD products.

Love watching your reviews. i just realized that we are in the same state. i may have to come and visit you for my next ball.

That cover adjustment was money. Good stuff JR

So funny. I remember Fruit Salad from Dave Traber to Norm Duke but Norm beat him in the 10th. Love that show.
🔥
EXACTLY ON THE ONION!!!
Just ordered mine at my pro shop. Probably gonna have it get the cover to 3000 or 4000
Try the jackal ghost bowling ball
Cover on this shines a LOT so would love to see how it rolls after 30.
So I'm not the only one who did the CTD patch on the chest
Can’t wait to get mine.

Which do you think would be best, phaze 2 or this primal and change the surface to 3000 out of box?
Can you do a comparison for the Primal Shock and the Ruby IQ Tour?
How did it roll when moving right...like standing on around 15?
Onions are for salsa, soups, and powdered seasoning. Not pizza, salad, or wraps lol
What weight is your Primal Shock Bowling Ball? Thanks.
Is the primal shock cleaner than the Phaze 2? Can you do a comparison video?

Yeah, ours is 38….can’t really throw much with a lot of surface, usually anything under 3k is DOA.
@@danielfettes2954 damn 38 seems short lol not gonna lie wouldn't trying that shot, i think I'd like it. I hate longer patterns

I'm looking for a good "go to late in the block" ball. I'm curious, what's your ball speed? I'm roughly 14 mph comfortably. Any thoughts?
Layout in this. ?

Question which ball goes a bit longer the eternity or the primal shock?
Eternity.
Cool tech bowling Jr Raymond
Yogurt....yogurt...nope, raisins instead LOL
Hey. Any Motiv guys interested in a New in Box 15 pound Motiv Raptor Altitude? I am looking for trades. It was a special edition release. ❤

what's shaking is that chicks dig the trip 4.
Have all the pads and scotchbrite just wish we could change surface when it matters in stead of changing balls that rule has always bothered me it's a big part of the game and most don't want to do it 😉
Please do not use scotchbrite on a high performance bowling ball, especially if you’re looking for a consistent surface

44ft? That length is not so typical 😅 Anyways I will be getting one!

Ayyyyy I'm not the only one lets gooooo
Black widow 2.0 Hybrid video anytime??
Question? Do u use a lighter spare ball or know anyone that does with success?
I use 13 lbs for Spares. And 14 for Strikes. So i can 3-10; 2-7 Splits much better.
Where was the ball review? Great review for CTD products. Sure, Venom Shock cover with the Primal core. That’s it? Ok. 🫤
