Thank you for all of your presentations. Very informative, concise, and well done. The FP-90X may be the perfect contender for my next keyboard for gigging with a rock cover band because of its versatility and quality. It’ll be replacing an early model Fantom that is getting a bit tired these days. Thank you, Tony. 🙌🏼 🎧
Such a great presentation, Tony! Can I have a question? Does the FP-90x also have inbuilt RD-1000 sounds? Or is it possible to achieve that distinctive sound in this piano somehow? I'm a huge Elton fan and I want to find the right piano to play his stuff :) With inbuilt speakers and dedicated to play at home too.
The good speakers, the ability to control the transients of each key makes it very powerful I found some of the higher notes to he a little too dynamic. I made a subtle change to them and it's now perfect. I enjoy the dual mode. I have bass/ride cymbal on the left and piano on the right. Lots of fun. The harpsichord is also enjoyable when playing John Thompson Spinning Song. This has a rich sound while the Yamaha has a brighter not expensive sound. Both are good but I prefer the high polyphony on the Roland
Like Eltoniak, I like the sound of the RD-1000. If the FP90X does not have these voicings, is one of the 20 piano tones similar to the "Elton" sound ? Thx.
@@dimagusev1679I tried both out last week in the Roland + Yamaha stores in London. I vastly preferred the Roland, I much prefer the key action, though I know this is an individual taste. I know it's not of high importance, but the FP90x felt way better in terms of build quality and design too.
@@JitinMisra From my point of view, I felt the Roland sounded better, but I know many others prefer the Yamaha, definitely seems to be case of personal preference.
It is mine since a few days. Are there experiences among the readers regarding the PHA-50 keys. The G beneath the mid C is somehow rattling sounding like plastics, not as quiet as the other keys. When pressing slowly, you won't here that. And the device-AUTO OFF-function does not work. Thinking about giving it back, but seems to be difficult getting better epiano for this not quite cheap 2T€s.
no I don't have that problem, but I am not a huge fan of the sound however. I bought this piano, but actually I prefer the sampling sounds of the Yamaha pianos for instance. I probably won't give it back because that would be too much of a hassle, but I might buy a different piano a few years down the line.
Your unit is an unfortunate exception. Mine is flawlessly built like a tank ESPECIALLY THE KEY ACTION. It can get addictive to play. Keyboard banging is absolutely no problem. My only ongoing concern is difficulty in playing the same notes quickly. Also, the distributor in my location doesn't have a compatible cover so I just had one custom-made from a car cover shop.
Great question. I've owned the P515 for a year now and for some reason I figured the FP90x would be an (upgrade) . . . . NO CHANCE. The Roland does have a slightly lighter key action but the sounds on the Roland are VERY subjective! Modelling Vs Sampling . . . . . . . . . In my opinion the Sampling on the 515 is STREETS ahead from the modelling on the FP90x. Build quality is also far better on the Yamaha.
Durability: FP90x leads, from experience. It's built like a tank and seems totally unaffected by daily keyboard use/abuse. I love the variety of piano sounds it offers also. It's my piano for life.
Hi everyone. I have the FP90X myself. I just did some recordings and saved in the internal memory of the piano, now I can't seem to download these recordings or find a way to transfer them to my phone or laptop. If someone could help me out with this issue I would be very thankful. Cheers
Aviso Roland = EnRolando!
Best demonstration of the functionality on the internet! Thank you!
I like that you demonstrated also the drum kits of this digital piano.
Excellent instrument. I’ve bought mine a year ago. Highly recommend it! Good review btw.
Richard, what about PEDALLING. If I wanna play a CHOPIN or BEETHOVEN. Is the PEDALLING already built in??
@@gunorijssel7987 The pedals are separate and can be plugged in.

Another absolutely brilliant review. Thank you very much! Very helpful, indeed.
Excellent review.Thank you.
Great review, I just bought this keyboard and although I’m a beginner I would love to know the run of chords for the Eve of The War at 9:53
It’s Dm A7/D, A7/D Dm🙂🎹👍
Great review !!! Is it possible to underline the main differences positive and negative as compared to RD88 ? Thanks a lot .
Ahhh Bonnie rait lovely sounds!!!!

Holy smoke, was that 03:07 the 'Play It Today' song?
I feel like I've been carbon dated...! :-)
Well spotted!!!
I thought you're gonna sing with microphone All by myself ;). Great music and fun review. I can't make you love me also a great song..

Sir do you think yamaha P525 is better than this or not ? thank you very much .
What did you took in the end? Am curious myself.

Excellent review 👍 Thank you very much 🙏
9:53 HOLY SHIT, I was NOT expecting to hear War of the Worlds in a digital piano demo. And DAMN was it accurate, performance AND tone wise?
I’ve just upgraded from a 60X to a 90X because of the PHA50 action.
Which has better piano sound ?
@ the 90 by far. It’s a completely different instrument
Why I can't find any Roland FP-60 review by Bonners Pianos on RUclips?
I can’t believe the FX patches are on this instrument. What were they thinking?
Yep, I recognize them from the very old Roland E-35 keyboard I used to have 35 years ago. Exactly the same sounds.
No problem 👍👍

Is the Fp90 the sàme as the F90 please?
I own one. I love the action but the sound is… especially compared the Nord Grand’s and Piano’s is pretty synthetic which it literally is…
