My personal assessment: The John Deere 9560 STS is the better choice for larger, diverse farms due to its advanced technology, powerful engine, and larger grain tank capacity, while the John Deere 660 remains a reliable option for smaller operations with a lower cost.
The s660 has more engine power more capacity and it’s can go faster and dose a better separation job I know for a fact care we had a 9660sts and it took us 2 months to harvest all 2600 acres now we can do to in 5weeks
@@Ethan_farms Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s really interesting to hear how much of a difference the S660 has made for your harvests compared to the 9660 STS. I can definitely see how the extra engine power and improved separation could speed things up, especially on such a large scale like 2,600 acres. Cutting down the harvest time from 2 months to 5 weeks is impressive! It really goes to show how advances in machinery can have such a big impact on efficiency. I'll definitely keep that in mind when considering newer models for larger operations!
How has your yield been so far this fall 2024? Initiatives including waving (canceling) property taxes for farmers that own less than 1,000 acres should be put in place; this would decrease inputs and there fore help with their overhead. This must be instituted as small farmers (defined as anything less than 1,000 acres totals) will be struggling this year to turn a profit, most corn farmers are looking a $1.00 per acre loss this year, extremely tragic. How are you fairing / projected to fair after all inputs? Curious what your net profit per acre will be this year. Thank you for what you do!! -October 13, 2024

@TrucksTractorsHD yeah you’re welcome! Technology has come such along way from the 1900s
