still remember when these dudes played at my uncles wedding. Bought the baddest duranguense cd ever created "puro tamborazo alacranero" got it signed by the ogs and still have it. Back when their dad was playing, adan cervantes was on drums and chema was one of the singers. Need another album like that from Alacranes. The arreglos on that album are straight fire!!
🔥 🔥 I’ve been following Alacranes since late 90’s and have seen them live all over Chicago and the ranchos of Durango. These guys never disappoint and leave it all on stage every single time. One of my all time favorite groups, happy they got Memo and Hershey’s back last year. Cant wait for episode 2! Puro Santa Maria Del Oro Durango 🔥 🔥

I missed that baile at West Leyden in Spring 1997 cause I had to work... Nadie supo el nombre de la banda que toco... 😂 And I always regretted not calling into work- mostly cause I was told a chick I liked ended up going... lmao! But then my buddy who went told me Jose Paz (aka Chema) came out with el tamboron which blew people away. Lamento had already started el "tamborazo Duranguense" as it was called then, and Show Revelacion came shortly thereafter. Montez and Horoscopes left the norteño genre to become Duranguense once they saw what was happening at the bailes. Great podcast cause it's all truth! Promoters taking all the cash while the talent did the work (tocadas gratis), Ivan Fernandez, Terrazas, Villalva, the crappy disquera contracts, radio stations not wanting to play the songs, etc. Just missed the Franklin Park/Melrose Park bailes at Eagles Club and Luna Ballroom on 19th Ave on top of the ones at 5th Ave in Maywood (it was the Maywood Community Center) because between FP/MP and Aurora, we pushed the genre to where it couldn't be ignored as much as the radio tried to... Brings back lots of memories... 🙂

De acuerdo amigo paraíso empezó el estilo de la tuba. Y todos los demás agrupaciones junto con Alacranes llevamos el estilo y movimiento a el nivel internacional y gracias a dios fue un phenomeno. Aquí lo importante es dar crédito donde el crédito se merece 💪🏽
